Steeda site says tune is required.

Again, it does not require a tune. David from Steeda can chime in.

Does Ford release updated tunes? Are they compatible with different brands of intake?

Air Raid is another that does not "require" a tune. Another local GT owner is running one in his, and hasnt had any issues. It's been installed for about 2 months.

But the new one is so pretty:

Hey man that's the same intake I was looking at getting. Where does the filter sit? I can't find any pictures showing that? Mind posting up some more detailed pictures? Thanks

As far as i know Steeda is the only Intake that offers a restrictor so that you can use it with factor tune. They claim something like 10hp with it?

It's odd that their site says "tune not only recommended, it's required"?

It basically pushes the sound directly from the intake itself into the cabin. So, when blipping the throttle, you tend to get that "whoosh" sound. It is pointless. Unless you like fake(ish) intake sounds being forced into your ears.

I wouldn't get an intake unless you're getting a tune. It seems like a waste to upgrade your intake if it isn't going to make enough of a difference to require a tune. At least that's how I see it.

I was thinking about getting just the Airaid intake tube and using the existing stock box with my drop-in K&N, No tune required. It's half the cost and I think that's the most restrictive piece to gain a few horses.
What do you guys think?

I installed the MMR (they said no tune required) but the throttle response is terrible. I also have free-flowing exhaust so maybe the combination. Needs a tune for sure.
I have asked for any kind of dyno numbers on their intake or testing showing how much more efficient their intakes are twice now and both times my posts have been deleted. I would stay FAR FAR away from MMR. Shame, because I like their design, but it is obvious (to me) now that if their customer service is that bad, then their products are junk as well.

Stick with Steeda or Airaid for a tuneless CAI, but don't expect much, if anything, for gains on either.
