Well now your painting a different picture, but your clearly indicated PD compressors start to drop off at midrange levels around 3500 rpm which is not true on this motor. look at the dyno graph posted power keeps climbing to 7500 even 7800 rpm in whipple 2.9 case. Hell just look what lethal just posted with their 850whp 150 mph 1/4 2.9L whipple, and that's a stock motor with long tubes.
I'm not painting anything brother :repost:, whipple + GT = bad ass :amen:

Question guys. I have been going back and forth between Whipple and a Centri setup. If I go PD, it'll be Whipple or nothin. But what I would like to know and which hasn't been brought up, is WHICH centri is keeping up with the Whipple. There are several centris out there (P1SC, D1SC, F1, Novi 2200, Novi 1500, V3, V7 Ysi, JT). And people are saying the centris are pulling more up top than the Whipple. I doubt a P1SC, Novi 1500, or V3 can. I'm not sure about the D1SC. But I would think the F1, JT, Ysi, and 2200 all are capable of outdoing the Whipple. Could someone answer that for me please? I think that is very important info so that someone might not be buying a P1SC thinking it can match a 2.9 Whipple. Thanks!

550-600 is fine for me. I know even the P1SC can make that. But this will be more of a purpose build. I'm looking for the most top end within the limits of the stock block with headers. I know the Whipple 2.9 is better than the 2300 TVS blowers on top end. But is it better than lets say a Novi 2200? Or, which of the centris are better? Like, in the post where you overlayed the 2 graphs with the Whipple and the Vortech...which Vortech was that?

almost any blower will get you where you want to be, just depends on your budget, and if you plan to grow after that

So would a D1SC have an advantage from 40 mph? The 2200 has about 1450 cfms. I think the D1SC is 1400. Not sure about the V7 Ysi but I believe it is more than the Novi 2200.

They give similar performance as far as I can tell from people's dynos. I've never seen a race between two cars with those though.

For the money, get you a gt350 intake and Paxton 2200 for the price of the Whipple. Never have to look back then.

If you do a centri then do the beedcake centri with torque booster. Otherwise stick with a PD blower like whipple, tvs, or KB. Just my opinion after having a centri kit on my 06, then removing and installing a PD system. But I like torque, high hp cars with smaller torque curves pull you down the road, cars with broader, fat torque curves push you down the road.

I went with a Whipple on this car. My previous Mustang(08 Bullitt) I did a Paxton Novi 2200 kit. And while I enjoyed the Paxton a lot, there were times where I wished I had the instant boost that a PD blower gives. Roll races with PD cars that made similar power always went the same...they'd put me at their bumper instantly and then I'd stop the pull and it would stay that way the rest of the race.

IMO, if it's just a fun car that won't see much track time, I'd go with a PD blower just because of the instant boost making for a more fun ride. Although with all the WG setups these days, maybe you don't have to loose much down low with a centri.

This thread needs more turbo, y'all are missing the boat! I've played with several kinds of blowers, but once you go turbo you don't go back!

I wish I went turbo but soon I'll have fake turbo setup doing a wastegate.
