I know for a FACT that this can be fixed with remote tuning by Lund. The first 3 tune iterations I had from them did this exact thing with by race valve (which has nothing to do with it), and then they sent me an updated tune, after I explained the issue, and then the car drove flawlessly with zero surging. Who are you guys working with at Lund that says it's not in the tune? If you want you can refer them to my ticket request # 17727 if that helps.
Who at Lund did you work with? I've had the part-throttle surge for about 6 months and I just try and adjust my driving habits around it... would be nice to get it figured out though. I was told it's the nature of the PC bypass and no tune would be able to fix it. I'm Lund tuned...

edit: here are the responses I received:

"As far as the surging at part throttle. That's not tune related. It's the bypass. I think Procharger is using too tight of a setting on this bypass valve (which isn't adjustable apparently) and it causes issues. It's transition to boost way too quickly at part throttle. Have had a few customers switch to the race one which is adjustable. I'm having some other customers try the Bullet one they offer."

"and it's not that it is a centri car because it is surging it due to blow-thru and the bypass. Product of the setup. Bypass valve adjustment helps but if it is not adjustable you can't do much except replace it with one that is. We're going to continue exploring ways to work around it via the calibration. I don't think it will ever be 100% perfect. Even the 11-14s are not. We have it pretty close, but some still have bypass surge in high RPM."

I'm all for upgrading to the RR bypass valve if it'll fix the surging, but I haven't seen a firm verdict that this'll fix it.

I had a 12 with a Procharger and it had minor surging, but nothing like the video. I have the Paxton Beefcake special with the upgraded BOV on my 15. Still doing some logging with Lund, but no surging issues.

Wonder what beefcake has to say about that since they said Lund can fix the tune

I worked with Jon, and Greg, but I just realized that I went with the red race valve, and now I'm wondering if the regular bypass valve does really have issues. I would recommend the red race valve honestly, especially if it will fix that issue.

I just bought a new bov and should have it in a week. Then i will see if any difference.
It won't. I went with a bullet style from PC. Lund tuned it all out for me.

Maybe they should quit telling people its not in the tune then, and get all these issues tuned out? Hopefully the issue gets taken care of.

there are a mix of things going on, sometimes the bov can effect things, and the throttle is also a fine line on how quick it opens at a transition point

if there is something going on with the throttle, that can be tuned through, if it's in the bov, it can't

lunds personal car had the same issue and swapping bovs took care of it. if the bov is not the issue fine tuning that throttle transition can help some.

it's a fine line on forced air shoving through very little opening to a ton of air rushing through

Lund is hard at work to help eliminate this surging completely.

My OEM BOV would surge quite easily around 1/2 throttle as soon as I get near any boost while applying consistent throttle.

At the end of a day we are asking a NA PCM to work flawlessly with FI...there is no contingency built into the PCM for these functions especially with the centri BPV/BOV system vs a PD blower.

I can say that I tried to make my car surge last night and I succeeded. I found that over 3/4 throttle will induce a slight surge but nothing like anyone else posted.

I am probably more anal than anyone in this post and my car is driving like OEM sans the double and then some HP with a slight surge up top. Terry hooked me up with a TiAL 50MM Q and it sounds amazing...everyone compliments it cruising as well as the huge PSHPSHPSHHHH when I let off.

I can force my car to surge if I find the sweet spot in the pedal but I have to hunt for it. I am unsure if autos are more prone to it or manuals...there should be no difference though
