2020 GT PP1. On occasion, usually when going over rough surface (train tracks) or while making a hard left turn, the passenger side window will vent down/up as if the door has been opened and then closed. Sometimes it will do it 7-8 times in a row, others just once or twice.
Its annoying if nothing else....anyone ever run into this issue? Thoughts on what may lead to it or ways to resolve it without a trip to the dealer?

Thanks!

First link sure seems to be the likely culprit. Sounds like its time to get to work on adjusting that striker.

Thanks!

99% it is the motor.

Water gets into the motor power plug and shorts something in the logic board. When you replace the motor add dielectric grease to the plug and it won't happen again.

I truly hate the idea of letting the dealer take the car apart to replace anything. Hopefully it does not come to that. I will keep it in mind though.

A year ago, I bought mine slightly used from the dealer. When I test drove it the window was doing that. They replaced the window motor according to the paperwork. No problem since.

It's easy to do yourself. Pull the door panel and there are 3 bolts holding the motor in. It is easier if you also remove the door speaker.

with it only on left turns and rough roads, not on right turns, my money would be on the striker/striker switch

I'll put up 5 dollars it is water in the plug. Seen it too many times.

I pleaded with the dealer not to touch the motor. I wanted the car as is with warranty. While we were doing the paperwork he had the tech do it anyway.

In their haste they put the lift arm under my rocker panel instead of the pinch welt. Causing body damage. And the salesman wondered why I was so adamant about them not touching it.:explode::explode:

Ouch, did they fix the body damage?

I would agree, except the left turn only thing. the weight of the passenger door gets pulled away from the striker in a left turn, but not in a right turn. and would also relieve the weight from the striker on rough rodes (bounces). If it was water, it should be more random.

If it is the striker you should be able to get it to go up and down by pushing out on the door. You pushing will move it more than a 1 g corner.
