Hey guys I’m going to finally get a PBD tune for my car since my local tuner has had so many issues. Does anyone have a referral code they can please share? Looks like we both get $50 credit when using that! Appreciate it!

EDIT: note they prohibit from posting referral codes publicly, so if you have one please DM to me!

Before you go with PBD, I would suggest researching this forum for Wengerd tuning. Not to dog PBD, but I think Wengerd is really the way to go with this platform. I think a few hundred/thousand members here would agree.

Thanks for the tips, I’ll look into Wengerd more.

I was mainly thinking PBD because there’s a local shop that uses them and since I’ve had so many issues with the shop I had originally tune it (he’s a 3 hour drive away), I assume it won’t go smoothly and I may need to take it to them (worst case). I’m pretty handy though, running my own shop (not tuning) so perhaps I should realize if something is wrong I need to fix it myself lol

My last car had a PBD tune on it. It wasn't bad, but there is a reason i went with Wengerd this time around. Couldn't be happier.
Trans tuning? :)

I second this with the exact same experience. Wengerd for sure.

lol, nope, that one was a manual. It was the delay in communication that put a bad taste in my mouth. I understand people get busy, but if you are actively working on adjustments to the tune that should have been basically dialed in the first time, it's just poor service to have to wait days between replies. The tune itself was OK... Not much better than what Roush did to begin with.

I've had a few different S550's with using Lund, PBD, and Wengerd. Wengerds customer service is top notch and it doesn't hurt that he dials these motors and trans in better than 99% of other tuners out there. Most of the time in one file...

I work with PBD all the time. Plus I'm a local, just few miles from me. Kinda their Procharger guinea pig, have at least 10 tunes on my nGauge. Koby just hooked me up with 93 Octane tune and if I didn't like something, he'd just send me a revision. Have nothing but good things, plus my car made 770HP on a 120MM pulley on their dyno (with drag radials).

You can use my name if you'd like. Send me a PM.

I for one think i'll try Wengerd or Shoemaker as my experience with PBD was a bit meh. Nothing wrong, car runs fine, except for a very slight hesitation under 1200 rpm at part throttle.

I was running the Ford PP2 tune which i think felt a bit more refined, but wasn't optimised for long tubes and high flow cats. Hence why i went with an aftermarket tune.

Anyway, I just felt like i was more of a number, rather than a client, if that makes sense?
I would ask a few questions but only get a quick one line reply to one of the questions. Then when i asked if a could retain the "no lift shift" that the PP2 tune has, he didn't understand what i meant. Went on about rev hang, which is not what i was asking for. Also asked if i could keep the slight burbles the PP2 tune had on deceleration, but said they don't do that.

All in all, not amazed by the whole experience. I'm even considering installing the PP3 tune and see if it makes the same horsepower.
