Decided I didn't like the look of the chrome in my 2018 anymore, so I sprayed it with some aged copper paint. Think it looks great in combination with the lightning blue exterior!

Biggest down side is that I now have to get a new shift knob. Any recommendations on blue knobs?

Looks great, did you take apart the doors to get those pieces or somehow sprayed it in place?

Don't forget the parking brake button either!

Thanks! Everything was broken down and sprayed outside of the car.

Good eye on the button! I'm honestly afraid to paint it since it gets so much use being pushed in. Even the stock finish is already showing wear marks, so I'm not sure paint would hold up. Might try dipping it black or something to see.

Damn that looks really good.

Which route did you go? Airbrush or rattle cans? I'm thinking of firing up my airbrush but idk what color I want to go with.

I took some risk and went the rattle can route. Heavy traffic areas like the cup holders and door handles got extra coats of clear to help hold up.

If you do it, let us know how it turns out!

What brand did you use? Looks as though it lays fairly smooth out the can.

My problem is the color that I'd go with. I'm thinking candy coating in a metallic red.

I bet that'd look pretty sweet.

I used Rust-Oleum metallic for the undercoat and Rust-Oleum crystal clear enamel for the clear coat. Undercoat laid nice and flat, clear coat was finicky at times and wanted to run.

Good call on the enamel. The issue is the curing time. Enamel, you really want to wait 24hrs min before recoating. It's extremely durable but the cure time takes a bit.

Great job. I'm about to dissamble every chrome/alu look part.

How did you paint the chrome trim on the AC control and the window/mirror controls?
