There was a video I saw a few years ago with pretty low views back then, but some guy had taken all of the silver bits in the inteior, and I mean ALL. Radio pieces, door, dash, etc, anything that was silver he popped it off and got it powder coated. I've looked at my youtube history up and down and could not find it. Tried searching for it and could not find it. If anyone has this video saved I'd sure appreciate a link. It was such a good video.

Edit: I believe I found what was the video through my youtube comment history, unfortunately it looks like the video may have been deleted.

I doubt it was powder coated. Powder coating requires a pretty hot baking process that would melt all those plastic pieces. I smell phony you-tube on that one!

I'm considering a repaint of the silver aluminum looking dash pieces... thinking a gloss black with color shifting pearls would be cool

I really wish this video was still available. It was beautiful. I really hate the chrome accent pieces in these cars. My first 2015 Mustang had to sit outside in the Arizona sun and heat, some of the chrome painted pieces peeled up and looked terrible. Also, the silver / chrome is just not my favorite. The video I'm talking about was very detailed on the removal process, getting them painted, etc. IIRC it was a glossy black with some blue flake or something in it.

I remember that video. He even pulled apart the chrome trim on the door buttons! I believe it was some sort of spray normally used on guns.

Yup, literally everything that was silver / chrome on the interior came out. Even the little trim on the volume knobs. He had it sent off to get painted he didn't do it himself.

In a year after daily driving it will probably chip or wear and look like crap and then you’ll regret it.

CERAKOTE! That was it!!! Although @Berserk, you're totally right, I do recall him sending stuff out to get it done. Another search in the ol' YouTube history still turns out nothing. Looks like the vid has been deleted.

Yeah, I found the video in my YouTube comment history and saw it was deleted. Unfortunate.

The crappy chrome paint they use does the same.

From my 2015 to 2023 I noticed the shifter trim isn't painted chrome at least. Wish they changed all of those pieces.
