Yep.. might want to check the pistons for damage. Those pieces bouncing around can do some damage. Also check your pickup tube to make sure they aren't lodged in there.
Thanks for the heads up man.
We did find one of the brocken pieces of the squirters lodged in the Pick up tube .
We could not get it out and since the tube is incorporated into the GT 350 pan I had to order a new GT 350 pan.I could not go back to a stock pan since I am using a GT 350 oil pump (installed billet gears) which will only work with that pick up tube .
Also going to cost another 5-6 hours of labour to remove the rest of the squirters and install the block off plates .....this car is killing me! Trying to pay me back for trying to trade her ?
At this rate I will have so much in her it will be foolish for me to try and sell it since not going to get any of it back.

In the meantime the Helljon car is just purring and so smooth with the 5.2/GT 350 long block .The car is so NICE(premium /recaro) I don't think I can bring myself to beat her up again at the dragstrip like I had done when I was chasing that mid 9 second slip .......and I would be devastated if that engine should let go(despite the sleeves and 1500 hp rating )

I certainly will feel better beating up this damn KB car .

Car is finally coming together after sorting out some issues with the fuel system.
Initially the wiring was installed outside the car and a relay had fallen out leaving me with 2 pumps.
I found after car started going lean at WOT with the bigger pulley .

Wiring was redone running it inside the car and all seems well .Upgraded injectors to ID1300s.

Heat is the enemy of this set up so installed a TIG vision ice tank but needed help from a forum member here getting the fittings and hoses to finish it so still not hooked up .Also have lower grill delete waiting to install.
MGW shifter is now installed with drive shaft loop, so I was thrilled when I finally got a chance to run the car(unexpectedly) since US 41 in Indiana has been open the last 2 weekends given the nice weather we have had lately .

Before I get flamed for my shitty driving ,I am real rusty as I have been racing auto for the last 2 years since I auto swapped my 12.I have been racing the auto Hellion car the last 2 seasons since I traded that car .

2 weekends ago I drove the 100 plus mile when I got out of drill on Sunday and only got there on time to make one pass-
10.8@ 136.

I logged the passes and fuel was good but IAT's was getting up there (ice tank not hooked up yet )
Boost is peaking at 14-15 as expected so the dyno boost may have been reading high.
It may not be making as much power as the dyno numbers based on the trap speed .

I was up working in Lafayette this weekend and called on Sunday on a whim after I finished my rounds to see if they were open.
To my surprise they were ,so I headed back to Indy to get the car and drove back up north .

I got there a little earlier than the weekend before so I was able to get 3 passes before it got too cold .
Definitively need a lot more seat time but slowly getting there as I figure out the 1-2 shift .
Still not power shifting but there is a lot of rpm flare so I am sure a WOT box will help .

Got some traction on the final pass and ran 10.6@136

Street tires are 29 inch radials so really not enough gear with the 3.31's .I am sure the 28 inch slicks will help especially with the 60 and 1/8.
If I can pick up a little mph with the front skinnies and power shift(will need WOT box and lot more seat time) I am sure I can get it to go low 10's at this boost level(14-15 psi)
It was heat soaking by the 3rd pass-IAT's were really getting up there
With the smaller pulley (plus 4 psi) and the ice box I am sure it can go high 9's.
Not a bad night overall.logs looked real good except for IAT's.

Not sure I will get a chance to run it again this year .
Going to swap the smaller pulley and get some street logs before a final dyno
Then likely going to store it for the season (likely to store all 3 to bring down my insurance cost which has rocketed since my daughter has been crashing cars!)

Great MPH for a 'granny shifting pass'
Once you figure out that 60' you're going to do some damage man. And powershift! (why not?)

Nice! Get her figured out and she's going to be hurting some auto cars feelings.

Not bad.. :) Good mph for sure.

We went 10.30's with a 28" slick cutting a 1.4x 60ft time in our first KB GT.
Thanks man. Was that a 3.6? What boost level?, mph?
I figure trap wise ,close to what I should expect @15 psi. Hoping for 140+ with the 3.5 pulley.
I may need to refine the "kill" pulley"as a 3.0 to make 21-22 psi

Great MPH for a 'granny shifting pass'

Because not very good at it :( and 100 miles away from home so a tow would be very expensive. I did it a few times before I auto swapped my 12 but as you know its not very intuitive to the way you normally drive(driving a stick for 40 years).
I practice it in the lanes but once the lights drop I revert to my instinctive driving. I try and watch the tach but a lot of times just shift on sound.
I am sure a shift light and WOT box will help my times
On a good day I can get my 60-330 to around 2.6-2.7 range but it was around 3 sec on those passes.
MY street tires(18 ET R's) are too tall as well so hoping for low 1.5xx 60's dumping the clutch on 28 inch Hoosier slicks.

Congrats on the progress!
Thanks man. Not quite a rocket ship like the turbo cars but makes for a very fun street car.

Nice! Get her figured out and she's going to be hurting some auto cars feelings.
.

Yup ,defintiely no auto swap this time. May be a Magnum if the Mt82 breaks but I plan to stick to it and tryand row gears to 9 second slip.

But....boy, I forgot how stressful drag racing a stick car can be
Not sure it is necessarily any more fun when it feels like I am having a panic attack every time I am at the light.:(
If I cant get the 9 second slip, then I know some one who will so car sees it tru potential.
My Ford Tech(master tech) Brad-only guy who touches my cars- is a semi pro NMRA racer. If he cant row it in to the 9's ,then no one can.lol

.

Finally close to getting the KB car sorted.
It’s been a long road and I had started to wish I had traded the car(with the on3) while I had a chance.
After the runs at the strip I swapped to the 3.5 pulley and started doing street logs (all the tracks are closed).
Initially fuel looked great..... But started seeing a whole bunch of knock.

Went back to bigger(4inch) pulley and no knock... adding timing as before.

The car seemed to be missing at high rpm so we switched the plugs form NGK to the colder brisk R12's and tried the smaller pulley again

Still knocking but then started running lean. Turns out 2of 3 of the walbro pumps were dead so I replaced all 3 with the upgraded 274'S.

The fuel looked good again after the swap but still knock!
Since the roads were too cold to do anymore street logs so we decided to get the car on the dyno and reduce sensitivity of knock sensors as it seemed the knock is false.

Car ran like crap even though no longer knocking and not making any power.

It looked like it was running on only 7 cylinders!!

Damn,,,,, time for another compression test???

I went ahead and paid the balance of the engine build I had put on layaway during the last 10% off sale at MMR (another sleeved 5.2 to match the GT350 heads in the car.

…… then dyno operator noticed the wiring to the coil that seemed to be missing appeared to have been repaired and badly.

He taped it up and it ran better so he recommended we try replacing that ignition wire and see.
This is what he found when he removed the coil

My Tech at Ford was great as usual and he secured me a couple of coils(just in case)

Dyno operator another great guy ( and new father) replaced the plug and Voila!

Ran great(no more miss) and making the power I expected on back to back runs

No more knock and adding timing as before---- yippee.

it was making about 80-90 rwhp over the bigger pulley which I close to what I expected.
Boost readings are however 2-3 psi over what is expected for the combo(3.5 upper/20% lower)
Tuner added a little more timing to see if we could get more power.... and the knock came back!
went back to previous tune ,,,,,, no knock but broke up ---going lean.
looks like another pump(s) dropping off line again.
Car was low on fuel though so hoping that may be the issue ,so will try another hit tomorrow with added fuel before I start looking at the pumps again.
This car is killing me.

And we had great weather today so I had hoped to get my last drive in before putting her away for the winter.

You are having the worst of luck man. Your fuel system needs to stop shitting the bed. If you want to donate I'll be a friendly recipient :)
You'll get it sorted out soon man, I can't imagine another 200whp with what I'm working with.

Thanks bro
Car is starting to turn in to my 12-
if a pump(s) has come off line again I cant imagine brand new pumps are already dead.

Maybe something is wrong/faulty with the electrical system for the fuel pumps if they're dying so frequently. Sounds like the wiring has given you issues (relays/coils/pumps).
