I'd like to add an oil temp gauge in the cluster that currently has an oil pressure and vacuum gauge, so hoping to add just an oil temp gauge to the vacuum side of my 2020 PP1 to keep it clean and OEM-looking.

I can only find the entire cluster when I look online, does anyone know if I can find just the oil temp gauge and not the pod with the oil pressure so that I can swap out the gauges themselves?

Thanks for any info.

The gauge doesn't have a direct sender connection on it, it's driven off the data bus via the circuit board on which it is mounted. It's unlikely that simply switching the gauge onto the pinouts on the board for the vacuum gauge will work.

Oil temp is a calculated value, mustang GT doesn't have a real oil temp sensor. There are good aftermarket options to add one if you want to know real oil temps, but that would be a custom install.

I always found this to be an underwhelming argument. Define "real" temperature measurement. Anything that's going to a gauge is calculated from something (the resistance of a sensor, the expansion of a fluid, etc.). I've never seen anything that demonstrates that the GT calculated temperature is any less accurate than (or divergent from) sticking a sensor into some specific point in the oil system. Why should that point, likely selected for ease of installation of a sensor, be any more representative of the "real" temperature than any other random point?

Price has gone up a bit in the last 5 years.

As long as you take care to not crack the long dash trim piece, this is a very simple change. Make sure you pad the surface when you're screwing the cluster into the trim so that you can avoid scratches.

I've heard lots of people complain about not having the MyColor options, but I find that because it is so separated from everything else, I don't notice it. That said, the fact that I use red footwell lighting and orange on the main dash might contribute to that.
