Missing Engine Oil Temp Gauge on 2019

I don't see where that thread said MyColor actually works with the GT350 center gauges, just that it should in theory because the part has RGB LEDs in it. Will be nice to actually see one working, i.e. changing the colors via MyColor and having them match the rest of the lights controlled by MyColor. And since other members have confirmed the gauges they installed in their MyColor car did NOT change colors with MyColor it would have to take some tweak or new part number.
I have the GT350 oil temp gauge in my 19 PP2 and MyColor does not work in my case. To me, the white looks fine. I'd rather know the temperature.

I have the GT350 oil temp gauge in my 19 PP2 and MyColor does not work in my case. To me, the white looks fine. I'd rather know the temperature.

I'm a little late to this conversation but I tried to catch up as much as I could. I wanted to add a little bit of info. The oil temp is calculated and not based on an actual sensor. Ford uses the coolant temp plus the head temps plus some other unknown valves to make the calculations. I have seen info on those who have added a true aftermarket oil temp sensor and it does track decent for being calculated but not perfect. I also think that it probably doesn't account for aftermarket oil coolers if installed. Not 100% sure as I have not tested it myself.

I have recently gotten into tracking my car in Texas. Where it is still 98 degs F in early OCT. Yes, it has finally come down some but still no snow. Anyway, oil temp was something I watched on the track in my 15 a lot but I noticed that it was not an option to export via OBDII to my track addict software like a number of other things. This had me googling and searching the web in a number of corners and forums when I found out it was calculated. Because of that, it's not even an option to export to another sensor. If someone already posted this...sorry I just didn't catch it in this sub.

A common solution for this is a sandwich plate. Also used for easy to install oil coolers. I am still having issues picking one that will work with my procharger. My intercooler is right where most oil coolers want to be.

I am also waiting on parts to upgrade my dash from the standard to the digital dash. I believe the one gauge that doesn't move over is the oil temp. Again assuming because it is calculated.

So for all those who don't have it in the later mustangs, you have one of three options that I can think of. Pick up a Forscan and program the value using the unknown formula that ford uses and then output it to a separate gauge. (Then share that with me!) Maybe just guess on what they use to see how it tracks on a 15-17? Two... install a true sensor and use either a sandwich block or tap your oil pan. Last is to pick up the GT350 center gauges that probably don't have my color and are still calculated.

Overall it sucks if you want/need this reading.

Thanks for this. I'm a couple weeks into owning a '19 PP2 and was wondering if the GT350 gauge would work. I had it in my PP1 and although there was no my color it was a lot more useful than the vacuum gauge. In poor foresight I sold the stock PP1 center gauges and didn't have them to put back when I traded it, so I get to buy the GT350 set again.

This is something I learned from my last mustang. I have kept every stock part that has come off my 15 except for the mufflers. I should have done this with my 99 as you never know what you will miss.

I have several plastic bins in the attic with all the original parts. Takes up a lot of space but you never know.

So it looks like you did get into the settings and the option was not there. That sucks. Hard to figure why it was in the 2019 manual if they made the change in 2018. Could be like you say, that it is only in the optional IP, but looking at pages 89 & 90 it looked to me like that was specific to the standard IP.
An owners manual with incorrect information is pretty normal. My old 2004 Escalade manual details a section in the dash where you can see instant MPG readings. This was actually never an option on the 04 Escalade in any trim. Ford probably just kept rubber stamping the manual year over year.

Thanks for this info - This is what I understand as well, that the Oil Temp was always calculated, and that there was no physical sensor.
The thing is, if it's calculated, Ford should still have brought over an Oil Temp Gauge to the digital dash, because on the models without the digital dash with the Performance Pack, they still had one.
Further, the early build MY18 Mustangs when the digital dash debuted, some of these folks show an Oil Temp Gauge.
Not sure what is missing here.
