Hey guys,

I'm not very savvy when it comes to this stuff, but I noticed there is a mod for Oil separators for the GT350's.

What are they for?
Why didn't Ford do this from the factory?
Is this a Must-Do mod?

Thanks!

I installed mine at 580 miles, both sides Ford Racing separators.
I changed oil Monday at 2680 miles, spirited but no track time.
PS had 3/8" DS dry.
They definitely work.

FYI, the Ford can won't fit on the driver side if you have the JLT CAI.
Since I keep reading that there is so little oil on the DS, I have decided to only use the one on the passenger side.

I have the JLT off my Boss that I fitted to my Shelby this weekend. It seemed a bit tight, so I removed it.

Oh it'll fit, it just takes some doing.

Ford units here . . . the right side collects about 1 ounce of oil for every 1000 miles.

how easy or hard is it to empty the ford units?

I passed on the JLT's because i read in several places that they don't do as good of a job as the Bob's/UPR. Do the ford performance ones work as well as the Bob's or UPR? i do like the stock look better.

I like them, the lid is fastened with 4 socket head cap screws, they don't need to be tightened more than a hand driver can loosen. Nothing to disconnect, lift the cover and I use a vacuum bleeder to pull the oil out and measure it. The whole process takes about 2 minutes.

I got the Bobs, had Bobs with my GT500 as well. Like the bobs but would be nice if the PVC fittings came with them. I don't want to cut my stock connections. Does anyone know the part number for the fittings? I'd rather just buy 4 new ones and leave my stocks alone.

DON'T CUT THEM!!! Soak them in boiling or near boiling water for 20 sec or so and they will separate with some moderate oomph. Easy peezy!

In my opinion no. A good portion of the oil is vaporized where the Ford catch cans or the driver's side UPR (check valve) have no separation media to return the oil back to droplets which becomes your caught oil.
