I've owned both, a new 2017 GT-350 with electronics pack / Recaros, which I traded my 2012 Boss 302 in for, and now I'm in a new 2019 Bullitt, electronics / magnaride / recaros. Both are only cars that I daily drive. Both are bone stock.
I liked the recaros in the Shelby a bit more than the...
I wasn't aware that there were any gearhead types who didn't care for Steve McQueen or Bullitt. He was a car guy who made a couple great car movies- Bullitt and Le Mans.
I'm in my 40s. I buy a new car (from Ford) every few years, and I approve of what Ford has done here.
They are going...
The car in 68 had a number of options on it, including a deluxe interior- so the idea that to keep "true" to the original means no options is a misnomer. An auto was available in 68, but that wasn't how the car was ordered. It had a manual transmission.
Bullitt Mustang Options
I think that...
They didn't have one with the 08 Bullitt.
I've owned a couple of rigs on your list, amongst a host of other modern mustangs, and I would not have guessed the "answer." Maybe I just don't know anything about modern Mustang history.
Not to split hairs, but I seem to remember distinctly the target on the Boss 302 cars was the number of 69-70 cars built. No, I don't have a link to that. It might have been in Donald Farr's book.
This quote in the link that AC53 provided is a bit odd. I wonder what they exactly are saying here? I hope that it's not piped in exhaust sound.
Customized to the car’s interior environment, sound engineers tuned the B&O PLAY audio system to take both the static and dynamic states of Mustang...
This will be like the Boss 302s and the Shelby's. If you want to be first in line, you will pay extra. If you are a bit patient the price will go down.
Oh haha! Yes, being in the UK that might be a bit harder!
Surely somebody is your body type that can give an answer. I'm a bit smaller than you but I'm super comfortable in them. I would say that a few years ago I was around 215 or so, so I was probably a bit rounder than you!
If you are thinking about it, just go sit in one- I'd think any decent dealership would have a GT optioned that way- be aware that they do break in to some extent and become less snug.
After spending the last six years in them (a Boss 302 and now a Shelby) I sat in a "regular" seat and went on...
I've had recaros in my last two cars and after having them sat in the standard seats and didn't like them at all. Once in the car, the Recaros are just a lovely place to be, and I think especially so on my lower back, which bugs me in a "softer" seat. The bolsters are especially good.
To me...
Everybody has a different method when it comes to ordering a special edition vehicle. I'd say from my experiences that Mustang1260 is pretty accurate with the description above.
The dealership where I buy isn't a large dealership, and I'm not the first one to get whatever car I've ordered over...

I remember not caring much for the transmission/shifter in my 12 Boss, much of which was fixed by installing a MGW unit. It sounds like some of these issues have been addressed with...
Probably, it has the name "Shelby" and "Ford Performance" attached to it. Over the years, SVT products retain their value pretty well. That's been my experience in the various SVT products that I've owned, compared to the 08 Bullitt I bought new and traded in on a new 12 Boss a few years ago...
