I would agree it’s highly unlikely warranty claims would be denied due to having an oil additive unless they can prove that the additive caused the failure. BUT, they have that language in the manual, so they are covered from a legal standpoint if they deny coverage because they determine the additive caused the failure. Again, highly unlikely but that language is there for a reason (CYA).

I did my first oil change after about 2k miles, used Motorcraft Synthetic Blend 5W-30. There was a slight tick shortly after but it was only noticeable with the windows down and up against a wall (garage, drive thru, etc). After about 1k miles or so it quieted down a bit, hardly even noticeable now with the windows down (unless I’m just used to it). I have zero worries about the ticking, although I am going to go with the Motorcraft Full Synthetic next oil change and thereafter as I just prefer the full synthetic. Figured for the first oil change I’d go by the book and use the blend as recommended.
Yes, but the warranty has that language about everything lol! A ford dealership would have to prove how exactly the additive caused the issue, not to mention they'd have to prove there was one in there in the first place. No ford dealership has the ability to test oil composition, so this is one of those "play dumb" moments 😂.

I have yet to change my oil after the first time I added Ceratec, does anyone have a picture of how milky the oil is? Just wondering what I should expect :)

Adding ceratec makes the oil look like brown coffee with a lot of cream or milk in it. Same kind of color. Lighter than typical hot chocolate. Anyone who sees it will notice it for sure. I would not want a dealer to see it just to avoid the inevitable hassle they will start If they have a bee in their bonnet over it.

That said it cured the tick on a friends 2014 GT, night and day difference. I was around that car a lot, drove it myself many times. He actually got .5 more indicated MPG on the gauges doing the same routes to work. I know I know, that's not scientific, but he had the car for long after and swears it was .5 MPG+ different after the Ceratec.

The oil will look like this:

If I ever develop the tick, I will be using it for sure.

Also I notice on some S550s that a similar noise can be created by exhaust heat shileds cracking for a bit after startup. They will not be as regular or rythmic as the true BBQ tick.

Yup! I have gotten .9 mpg better since adding Ceratec. In addition, its definitely doing its job reducing engine wear and since I run my engine pretty hard I'm confident it will prolong the engine life as well. Thank you!

That's the same logic I use for BBQ sauce and hot sauces. Beer too!
Being in bourbon country I use that same logic for bourbon bottles as well.
