Yes, but the warranty has that language about everything lol! A ford dealership would have to prove how exactly the additive caused the issue, not to mention they'd have to prove there was one in there in the first place. No ford dealership has the ability to test oil composition, so this is one of those "play dumb" momentsI would agree it’s highly unlikely warranty claims would be denied due to having an oil additive unless they can prove that the additive caused the failure. BUT, they have that language in the manual, so they are covered from a legal standpoint if they deny coverage because they determine the additive caused the failure. Again, highly unlikely but that language is there for a reason (CYA).
I did my first oil change after about 2k miles, used Motorcraft Synthetic Blend 5W-30. There was a slight tick shortly after but it was only noticeable with the windows down and up against a wall (garage, drive thru, etc). After about 1k miles or so it quieted down a bit, hardly even noticeable now with the windows down (unless I’m just used to it). I have zero worries about the ticking, although I am going to go with the Motorcraft Full Synthetic next oil change and thereafter as I just prefer the full synthetic. Figured for the first oil change I’d go by the book and use the blend as recommended.
I have yet to change my oil after the first time I added Ceratec, does anyone have a picture of how milky the oil is? Just wondering what I should expect
