new top speed

With this being a all new body and rear set up for world sales. Is the limited top speed changed? I'm sure V6 & ecoboost owners wouldn't like getting passed at 115 by honda accords & kia optimas. Who can do a limited 130.

:shrug:They should limit the cars to 90 mph. I saw a video of a tuned v6 drop a drive shaft trying to max out.

I for one am not worried about a limiter, my 5.0 will be AED tuned.

There are various reasons as to why they have the limiter set at where they do. As for getting passed up by a Honda at that speed, it is very unlikely that will ever occur.

Ok, thanks guys for your feed back. I had the pleasure of traveling to europe this summer. And guys, I'm sorry to tell you this but in Italy. Everyone on the toll roads hit 100 plus. I'm talking little 4 cylinders. So in Europe & in many places here in the U.S. people hit 3 digit speeds daily. Especially here in the southern states. Just the other day I seen a stang get it's doors blown right off by a little c class benz. It was sad. I respect the laws of the land, but this is a sports car correct? Thanks for your time.

Top speed limiters are easily removed with a tune.


I bet that c-class was a C63 AMG that comes stock with 450hp and easily breaks 500hp with simple mods. I wouldn't feel sad getting beat by one of those. Not that street racing is relevant to top speed anyway.

Oh yeah..that's a most. I will remove the 115 governor, Quickly! I love this new body. It looks like its moving at 100 sitting still.

I believe they upped it to 123 or something like that. I do remember it's no longer 115 for the V6, but as others have said it's been posted.

Those were carryover driveshafts from the 4L that really shouldn't have been in the 3.7. Don't think they'll be in the '15.

edit: They're definitely not in the 2.3, it has the GT shaft

I wasn't bashing Hondas, but what are the odds that you will be doing over 100mph or 115mph for long periods of time and be passed by a Honda, what is the actually likelihood of that happening? I know where I live if you are doing 100+ you won't be for very long and that it is illegal, the highest freeway pace where I live is typically 70-75mph on a good day, the fastest freeway traffic pace I have witnessed was 80-85mph and that was on Interstate 5 through Cali.

Correct they changed them on 12 or 13 due to the breaking in 11s

I would technically agree with your point. I was just bringing to light that even a 95 Civic SI could touch 130. And no worries. I got over the Honda in 97'. Last front drive I'll ever buy, I hope.

I have personally been in groups running 95+ through Georgia, Virginia, Texas and Arizona. But that just reinforces your point. Still well under 120.
