Like the new look.
However still does not work with the new Android Auto split screen or I'm too dumb to figure it out...
Anyone have the split screen working?
I don't think split screen will be enabled on an 8" display.

Are you running Cyanlabs or Ford's direct file?
It first started a month after I got the car and then I started running the Ford file to update and hopefully solve the issue which it did not.

I suggest to take it to a dealer and have them reinstall the software. If they have an issue then the module will be replaced. I think you might have a hardware issue

Thanks Brother

I have the latest-ish version of AA - 6.4.611714.
Split screen came out with 6.1 or 6.2 if I recall.
Supposed to be enabled on 7 inch and larger screens according to Google.
But I could be totally wrong.

I see it works on later model F150s and Expditions based on those forums.
Not sure why the Mustangs dont have it yet.

There's one very obvious difference after the update. Other than that only Ford knows.

The media screen has a better layout and now looks like this:

Actually the previous version 3.4.20282 had this new media screen layout (which is much better than old one). So now I'm wonderin' what ELSE they changed...

How long does it take to download over wifi, and do I have to keep the car on/keys in the whole time?

Gave it 10 min and saw 0 progress on the download so I'm not sure if keeping it on and downloading for potential hours is a good idea.

It took two days to do mine. First attempt was after work. Kept having to cycle the power button every 15 minutes or the car would shut off. Finished it the next morning...it’s not a quick process and I’m on 300mbs speed.

it does take awhile. I started just before going to bed and it was ready when I woke up. Don‘t sweat it, start it and walk away.

You have to start with power on and in park. After that it will take around 30 minutes with no power interruptions. Time to take a nice drive.

My Mach 1 already has that screen. So, I'm not going to mess with it.

I downloaded the latest SYNC 3.4 update by WiFi and you "DO NOT" have to have the "ENGINE RUNNING"; All you have to do is to JUST have the KEY ON. It takes about 30/35 minutes to do a download!!!

There is an “Auto Off” setting where the car will automatically turn off after 15 minutes if not doing anything. Simply uncheck that Auto Off feature and it will keep going.
And as others have said, you do not have to actually start the car. Just turn it on. Seems like it takes about 5 minutes to get the download going before it shows much on the progress bar.
I did two cars the other evening. Piece of cake.

My previous version was 201... so it looks like my system skipped an update.

Ford now instructs you to insert the USB while the car is in park. Once you see the software update banner you're good to go. Just do not turn the engine off during the install. Bad things could happen. Also it may reboot once or twice. Do not pull the USB at this point. Wait until it tells you the update is complete and to remove your USB.
