Got it squared away today. I did the Sync update via usb (30 minutes) and then gave the map update via usb another go and it took about 45 minutes. I have to tell you, I don't see a difference!

As far as any Sync updates you will not see anything at this point. Most likely just some background adjustments. Maps are a little easier to spot depending on road growth in areas where you travel. Just keep in mind that maps are usually a year behind. That's why I use Waze/Google in addition to Sync maps.Got it squared away today. There was a free one available to me a month or so ago that I stupidly didn't download as I didn't have the time to fuss with it then. Today, I went to get it and now it's $109 for a one-shot or $199 for a 5-year subscription. Bastards. So the free maps update was still available to you? Wonder why I can't get it.
Start by checking your build #. The latest is 22200. Sometimes you do not get the XML log file.I was hoping the reason the free map update wasn't available was because my SYNC wasn't up to date. I've tried twice to get my SYNC to update via USB and can't get it to work. The first time I didn't format the thumb drive. The second time, I formatted it and I saw a message that said it was initializing which I didn't see before, but I'm not getting the log file showing it's been updated.
Any ideas?
I'm searching for the info but I believe we 2019 owners were to get 5 years of free maps. If you saw a free update then you should get one. So long as you have 22200 you are up to date. Did you check your USB files to make sure that you did not get the .XML file? Thanks. My build is 22200. I definitely didn't get the "Updating System Software" note. The Ford website says my SYNC isn't up to date when I put in my VIN. I tried contacting Ford and they created a case number, but nothing has happened since.
Yes. I checked. It's not there. If I'm up to date, why would the website say I have an update available? So long as you have 22200 you are up to date. Did you check your USB files to make sure that you did not get the .XML file?
Here are my 22200 files.
Because it doesn't know due to the fact you could not report back to them. No big deal Ford will take care of it for you.Yes. I checked. It's not there. If I'm up to date, why would the website say I have an update available?
I thought the 2019s got 5 years free as well, but for the life of me, I've been unable to find the reference.I'm searching for the info but I believe we 2019 owners were to get 5 years of free maps. If you saw a free update then you should get one. Call Ford.
