Hi everyone. I've been lurking here for a few weeks reading posts and doing some research. I just traded the 2 Roushes in the picture and bought the GT-500. With that being said, I didn't see a "New Guy" thread, so I hope it's ok that I post here.

Questions:

1. I've purchased some of the painted letters from Zimcraft, but I haven't found the painted snake for the front grill. Do I have to paint my own, or can someone point me to one that's already done?

2. Other than preference, has the JLT or 1320 Junkie CAI proven to be better than the other? I like each of them for different reasons...

3. Does Lethal Performance do many sales? I've kept some stuff in my cart loaded up waiting for a 4th of July sale, but nothing so far.

4. Wheels: I loved the Project 6GR wheels that were on my '15 Roush, but can't get any info from them as to if they're planning on doing wheels for the GT-500. They haven't been answering their online chat. Does anyone have any info?

5. Does anyone have any New Guy tips that all of us NUGs should be privy to?

Thank you in advance!!

1. Im searching for a red outlined snake as well
3. Yes, they usually do. Give them a call
4. 6GR wheels suck (ask me how I know). Give @50 Deep a shout. He is the Mustang rep for signature wheels. Fully forged quality stuff.
5. Welcome. Lots of good info here. Have a look @marklboris and @Jmeo s threads to give you an idea on early mods

I'm curious, Tom, what do you hope to find? Honestly, I don't see any other way of "colorizing" besides paint.
Despite what Ford says, the CFTP is a GT500R. Hence my license plate. I think it would be a nice touch to have red highlighted snakes anywhere a snake is present.

They make them, but the one shown below is for 07-14

You hit one of the nails on the head---the heat shield with the JLT. I like the 1320 because of the custom paint, but since it comes with a heat shield as well; that's gonna be my choice. Thank you!

Thank you for all of the great info! If you don't want to go into details here, would you mind sending me a PM with why you hate the 6GR wheels?

I'll just say it. They are spun forged, cheap, and have a razor thin caliper clearance. Rocks get jammed between the calipers and the wheel drum and chew up the wheel as well as your calipers. Do it once, do it right.

Thank you for that. With the caliper clearance issues, have most people been upgrading to 21" wheels, or just keeping the 20's? I saw a post by them that they built a set of squared 325's. Has anyone tried fitting 325's on the rear with the 20" wheels?

I speak of the 19" wheels on the GT350s. I am not aware of 20" 6GRs, but since I sold the set I had, I have had no interest in anything 6GR related. The first set of wheels I bought from them was defective. Horrible finish. I had to send them back and settle for a different color. Customer service was lacking and I decided I would never go back. I bought a set of wheels from @50 Deep and have never looked back. My third set of wheels is inbound for the new CFTP.

6GRs are a compromise for budget minded people. I didn't know any better at the time. Lesson learned.

Glad I never pulled trigger on 19s for my 350!
