I haven't driven my car much, and I've only read the GT500 supplemental book so far. With that being said, often times when upshifting I'll hear a "tone". It's not really a beep or buzz, but a clearly defined tone. I'm not sure what it is and it's kinda driving me batty. Perhaps I turned something on/off? Any ideas what I'm hearing...besides myself going crazy?

I don't have a 500 but if its the same as the 350 it will be the automatic shift tone you can turn on/off based on the set RPMS the car wants to upshift at. You can access it in the settings from the steering wheel.

I like to disassemble things.
It would help if you had any idea where the tone was coming from....the dash, the seat, the sky...

Sorry, coming from the dash. Perhaps it's what Bulldog22 mentioned. I'm going to go check now. Thank you.

I think you may be correct. I thought I remembered goose saying factory setting was 3500 rpm or something like that

The sky.....I got a chuckle out of that.

Tommy: Bulldog and the others are correct, it's the "Shift Tone" that is user-programmable RPM-wise, you'll find it via the Cobra button and Track, IIR but if not, it's pretty easy to find.

You can tell by the very thin, vertical, orange line on the horizontal digital tach if you have that selected. (easy to find, also,) I presume it is for either kind of racing to set your upper RPM shift limit.

Mine is still set but it's on my list to turn it off as I just tap the right paddle if I get too close to my own upper limits and then, don't have to hear the tone.

Yup, it was the shift tone. It's easy to move, however. Thanks everyone!
