New Glass Windshield Pricing...

To the folks that have unfortunately had to replace their windshield screens, care to share how much ya'll paid for new glass?

I know v6s have different glass from the GTs...not sure on the EBs. Trying to figure out pricing so I know what to expect, if any from the different trims.

It isn't me that needs one, it for my 2nd oldest son who broke his (v6) while washing the car after it had been sitting out in the hot sun. :doh: Noob error...

Good question...not sure on that...he has Geico. Probably not but I'll ask him.

I don't have it on our policy (not offered) with another carrier.

OK, what's different between V6 and GT windshields?

You either have auto sensing wipers or you don't. I had a rock destroy my drivers side of the windshield November of 2015. Called up Geico and they wanted me to pay my deductible and claim it. So we kindly hung up(didn't claim it) and I called around for quotes. About $611.

The windshield I had, had a mustang logo on it, however their replacement glass options at all of the places I called only had the ford logo. No one had ever heard of the mustang logo on the windshield.

Bottom line (at least of the info I have from a few months ago) you have auto sensing wipers or you don't, price is $600 OTD

I have replaced mine twice. Price was $500 both times.

GT has a Sound screen glass while his v6 does not. I'm assuming different construction but overall dimensionally the same.

I was in the autobody biz several years ago and Glass had the biggest mark-up of anything. It was -50% minus 10%.I passed along some of this to customers so try negotiating.

Rand, I got mine replace at Safelite Autoglass for $400 OTD for the Ford Factory Replacement "Sound Screen" for my GT.

My 2015 EB does too, and its a base.

You either have laminated or non-laminated (v6's maybe), with or without auto sensing wipers.

Mine's had new glass once. It was roughly $300 from a local company.

GT, SoundScreen, no rain-sensing wipers.

I have to say that all things considered my car is pretty quiet tooling down the road, don't know how much the glass factors in but I'm happy. Also, having a zero deductible comp helps out with glass. It breaks, I put in the claim, call Safelite they replace it with OEM glass at no cost to me. Worth every penny.
