Hi All
I was wondering if you could help recommend a new axel back system for my 2020 bullitt.

currently have SwitchFire and stock active exhaust and I’m not really digging the sound.

im looking for I guess a more chambered muffler exhaust sound that’s not loud and. Not quiet.
Something like the flow master 40 series sound?.

any ideas ?.

cheers

Sound is subjective but flowmasters sound like garbage on any 05+ mustang. I recommend corsa or Pypes h box for a low growl that’s not too raspy or tinny. A lot of people run x pipes with roush mufflers too, doesn’t sound bad but is loud in my opinion. My days of loud exhausts are over lol.

at least what I’ve heard on the net.

what about Borla touring ?.
no interested in loud but still want that rumble.

Bullitt is active exhaust, correct? If so, I’d say Borla S Type or the Corsa Extreme Active. The volume in Normal or Sport mode won’t be terrible. I personally like the S Type and it does have a bit of a deeper tone to it.

There’s other options out there but some of them you would lose the Active (AWE Touring is one of those)

Maybe consider some Dynamax mufflers for a quieter exhaust note. If you want to retain your AE feature with them, you can have the AE portion of your factory exhaust carefully cut off and welded onto the Dynomax mufflers. Otherwise, you’re going to be louder and you’ll also lose AE as others have said.

I gave up my AE for a Steeda axle back on my Bullitt and I put the actuators in a bracket to keep the exhaust malfunction light off on the dash. Not sure how the Steeda axle back will sound with the AE welded into it, but it would certainly be easier on the wallet and toned down with the different exhaust modes from mild to wild.

You did hell of a job marketing that switchfire when you first got it (maybe 10+ posts on various threads praising it ?), what’s changed … ?

Either way, I hope you get sorted with something you like :like:

Honestly don’t think it’s the pipes.
I think it’s this issue I’ve had with the car from day 1

AWE touring is one of the deepest muscle car sounding and Zero drone with AWE.
You will loose the Active exhaust feature with the AWE.

The Borla S-type would be the next closest sounding and they offer the option to keep the active exhaust.

LMK if I can help
