That tuner is most likely Vengeance Racing and yep they have built plenty of cars that get that horsepower and more. It tends to be pretty expensive to have that reliable power.
That sounds about right. He said it was going to somewhere in the neighborhood of $16,000.

A stock 2015 zl1 manual was running 12.7’s best @ 117 mph at my nose bleed track. My 14 GT/CS was running 12.4-12.5’s with Lund tune @ 112 mph.
Oh wow. Good info. Those ZL1s obviously are not as fast they would have you believe.

Speaking of some gnarly ZL1 builds, check out this one we did for a customer back in 2013 that set two new world records. Ran 9.83 on boost only and 9.69 with a small shot of nitrous. You'd need quite a bit more than a flex fuel tune to smoke this one!

Terrible ZL1 Driver.

That was a 2015. 5th gen. I run neck & neck with stock + CAI 5th gen ZL1s in the 12.6 - 12.9 range when my Camaro Club rents Milan. I'm in a stock +CAI 2017 SS convertible, no tune. The 2017+ ZL1s in the club consistently run 11.3 - 11.8. I'm not sure which of them are MT and which are 10AT and I'm not sure whether they are stock or not. I do know that the difference between a 2015 ZL1 and a 2017 ZL1 is night and day. I can hang with a 5th gen. I can't touch a 6th gen. This is me running a CAI 2015 ZL1. Second slip. I’m #8, he’s #9

Yep the 12-15 zl1 where heavier (gen5 maro) and less factory hp than the gen6’s. Bottom line, is any manual car with a lot of torque on oem style street tires is hard to hustle through quarter. I love my E tuned a10...

Just remembered having looked at these slips again. The 3rd slip is me running a 6th Gen ZL1 on a tire. That’s probably closer to what the OP should expect from his buddy. Expect a few 10ths slower than the 10.933 this guy handed me.

132.1 mph...don't think that's a stock 6th gen ZL1, right?

I know the guy so I may have to ask. For all I know, he may have had a pulley. I do know he had MTs because I was parked right next to him when he put them on.
Sounds like a pulley change. Very common to ZL1. Doesn't the 6th gen ZL1 also have the A10?

They zl1 got the a10 in 18 I believe. I am seriously considering one over a hellcat widebody. Make a better track (non drag) car. Pulley, tune, E85 done.

No, it got the A10 right out of the box, maybe a few months after the M6. I was still at GM when it was introduced. I had a couple conversations with Al Oppenheiser about the A10 before it was introduced. I retired from GM in March 2017.

The SC even at 650whp with that 10r80 will do work on that ZL1. I'd go 700whp to be safe though

It always begins with my buddy has lol. Expect to begin spending $$$, as he likely will do if you beat him and then it goes on and on....and then one day, somebody will blow past both of you....always happens.

That just made me think of Japan’s midnight club and rivalry between the 280z and the Porsche 911. They both kept building their respective street cars until very little of the original cars remained. If I recall the Z was around 700hp by the end. Not bad for an in-line six that started with 140.
