In my trunk, I’ve got the factory air pump, jumper cables, lug nut wrench. Car is still really new and I’m just not worried about much breaking.
Past that the constant riders are drinks of some kind, water or tea usually, gym bag, pool stick. That pool stick has seen very little use this year...
I think something else you should consider is what is your end goal. Will this be a 1 to 1 restoration? Are you just wanting the car good enough to race on a track? Is the goal to get close to factory but you’re ok with it not being perfect? How you answer that question will have an impact on...
I’ve got a story for this.
Years ago I parked my shitty old Chevy s10 in the parking lot of a friends apartment while we drank and played games. In the morning I came out to a broken window a busted up but still present stereo, and my glove box strewn all over. First off my doors weren’t locked...
Stock ish 17 PP, best I’ve gotten is 27-28 driving long, flat and straight through eastern Oregon at about 80 mph. I’ve got resonator deleted and manga flow mufflers on mine. Otherwise stock. Should mention I was driving with driver window down and ac on full blast.
The reactions you get will be as mixed as the people you meet. I stopped caring what others thought of my car choices awhile ago.
I used to own a 2013 V6 manual mustang base. I bought it a couple years old and payed cash for it. Why not a v8? Because that’s what I could afford without credit...
Hey can I ask a dumb question that I couldn’t find the answer to? Is the 15-17 GT PP lower than the base gt? My dealership said my car is lowered but I’m not so sure personally. Front seems a bit lower than back but all the hard ware looks stock.
Pictures online show the recaros as having a U shaped retainer instead but I also see some that don’t. Maybe the design changed? I’d guess there’s some after market for it. Either way that would drive me nuts. Without that loop the belt digs into my neck.
I had an idiot moment not so long back. I have quieter than stock mufflers on my car, dumb kid in Honda is barking out his window that I up badged a v6 because he thought my car was too quiet. We were in a parking lot so I killed traction control and left my mark behind me, bird flying out my...
17 GT PP here. I haven’t really had a bad time with the mt-82, though to be honest I hadn’t intended to buy a manual. I went to look at a rather vague ad car from a local dealer and before I knew it I was driving my 17 home. I used to be one of those die hard only a stick kind of guys. I’ve...
Yes, loop that band over the belt and hook the magnet. I apologize if your comment was meant to be sarcastic. My experience is that without that strap the belt is very uncomfortable.
I use my phone to play music and audio books a lot. I’ve never once had a disconnect issue. Might be the phone? Maybe I’m lucky? I’ve used a couple friends androids here and there and I’ve had an iPhone 8 and 11 while I’ve owned this car.
I also have Have the poverty spec head unit. Btw the...
Years ago I loved the skyline gtr for its performance and in its era it was a truly spectacular car. Much of what made it such a beast was the all wheel system.
With the mustang we saw a lot of push back over the generations from the fan base. When ford developed a front wheel drive mustang it...
I really agree with you. The platform is fantastic. If I were to make changes none of them would be to the platform or drive train. I’d want the hood up just a bit higher compared to my eye level, (to my mind it gives an impression of a bigger more powerful car) reduce the curve downward at the...
It’s funny to read those measurements. I’ve personally owned an 04, 13, and 17. Been around all the others. But rarely seen more than one model lined up together. To my mind the classic 60’s models were too small and I’ve never wanted to own one because of it. The 70’s Mach 1 was a boat of a car...
Heh I joined this and several other forums to find answers to weird noises in my car. Eventually after never getting answers I gave up and learned to live with them. Thanks for the tip.
Check online in the Portland Oregon area. You might find a deal worth shipping over. We don’t salt the roads out west either. Fairly mild winters etc. so there’s a lot of mustangs. My 17 gt pp with 36k miles is a 26k car right now by kbb.
Body parts are expensive on these cars. I’ve seen an unfair number of collisions in my last mustang and one in my current. In my 13 v6 the right tail light was 900 by itself. In my current car, 17 gt pp, the head light was 1100. I’m not surprised that it cost that much.
