These kind of threads are what make me want to give up my '17 GT stick. My Gt needs full bolt-ons and a tune just to have a chance vs a tuned (non e85 as don't have that here) 18+ A10. But at the same time I like shifting and think autos are for those that don't know how to drive (Yes I'm aware that isn't how it works). But I want an A10! lol

Put a blower on it and you'll have the best of both worlds.

I feel ya. Going from a manual to an automatic was a tough choice for me as well but after driving the the A10, my mind was settled. It shifts so quickly, keeping you in the powerband. Do I miss rowing gears? Of course, I think anybody who knows have to drive a standard would miss it. But I know that for me (and these old knees + rush hour traffic in the a medium sized city), the auto was the best choice and I enjoy driving the car every time I get behind the wheel.

Back in my old drag racing days, a blower with a manual transmission introduced a lot of drive train stress you didn't get with beefed automatic. I replaced a few clutches, transmissions, driveshafts, axles and rear ends before switching to an automatic. I would still only do forced induction with an automatic transmission, but maybe that's just me and technology has changed.

Good points. Probably why GM built in the “bog” on the 6MT ZL1. Protect the driveline and axles.

Well my knees aren't old yet and after driving my car today and ripping around I would be mighty stupid to sell my car/take a loss just for an a10 (and no e85 here, just 91). I have no complaints about the MT-82 also

Not in the cards. The roads here are shit and I can barely open up a stock GT around here. Now while cruising around with 700rwhp would be fun, it is near pointless since 3 gears are useless. I'll be fbo and that will be enough for the street.

I agree, if you are talking about being fast from the dig.....but I have two manual shift cars for fun. The dual clutch car is for all the other times I want to go fast.

I opted for a GT Premium convertible with A10 and 401A package. There is no way I could make use of any performance package. It's too bad cars like this didn't exist in the 70s, when the roads were in much better condition, there was far less traffic and your vision wasn't obscured by all of the giant pickup trucks and SUVs.

I saw a zl1 at the running mid to low 12s. Throw some tires on it and get a baseline.
There would be no bigger embarrassment than having your SC LSwhatever lose to a stock na car.
This would be my plan

I own one of those trucks and a 19 GT Premium PP2. Don't down the 4x4's.
