I found the attached piece on the passenger floor area and am curious if anyone knows what it is from? I searched around various parts sites looking at the glove box and door components, but no luck. The large side seems to have white grease and the numbers "0698"

Thank you for your insights!

Looks like a viscous dampened gear. The type they use to allow things to open slowly. Like a glove box. Does your glove box drop open suddenly or come down slowly?

I thought it used the little air piston thingy. If I can't remember it's probably time to change my cabin air filter.

Thanks everyone!

I got the glove box pulled out this weekend and the part is from inside the sliding, guide rail on the right side of the glove box. It is pretty self explanatory how to remove the piece, and once it is off you can use a trim tool to separate out the two parts of the plastic guide to reveal where it goes.

Since we already have a thread with an appropriate title and subject matter, I won't open another one.
I found this under one of the rear seats. Any idea what it is?

With those internal grips, it looks like something fabric should pass through it ?

Is it seatbelt sized ?

If so, I wonder if it’s to hold the belt in a certain position or under tension (providing some slack) to aid fitting ?

Hmm... don't know - but it is getting close to Halloween, did you pick her up as a passenger? See red circle...

I'm pretty sure I've seen something like this before, in another car, used as a fastener for something, but I can't for the life of me remember when and where.

I found one of these in my car too. My guess is they are part of the factory packaging for the seat belts. Or it's used during assembly and removed. Obviously not completely removed since they left it in the car.

Indeed, it makes sense that it was used temporarily during assembly. Both rear side panels were removed, and there was nothing there that could have been fastened with this piece. Everything looks nice and tight. Same under the seats. If it were needed for guiding the seatbelts somehow, then I would expect the other seatbelt to have an identical piece still in place. But that isn't the case; I've only found one.

But still, I can't shake off the feeling that I've seen something like this before.
