It’s caused by road debris being flung up at the side of the body and edges of fenders… there’s no way to really stop it. It isn’t anything to do with the body panels proximity to each other.What do you guys think is the actual root cause of this? I have the same chip in the same exact spot in the rear, and one also in the front bumper/fender corner... but the other corners are fine.
Is it too snug or not snug enough to each other that is causing the chip?
I feel like touch up painting the spot will just get chipped off again soon after...
Take your hand and feel the entire inner edge of all of your fenders for similar paint chips….
