I was really surprised by my car on track!! I have changed some weak links now but, my first stock day was pretty good. Tires was my first move for sure and then springs, but the Mustang was well track tested!!

Evan, happy to see you had a great first experience, your doomed now. The Addiction is strong. If you liked your instructor stalk him/her so you continue to work with them. As they gain confidence that they may live the instruction goes quickly because you are both in a comfort zone. You may find that other instructors will stalk you, everyone at the track knows how good these cars are.

I can not stress enough that everyone should do it atleast once. You'll be in a novice run group with instruction, leave it in Sport and listen to the instructor. Car to car contact is 99% impossible. Do not be intimidated by other cars, if someone catches you, point them by and continue to hit your marks. The controlled environment of a road course is 100's of times safer than the public roads you took to get to the event.

Don't be afraid to drive your car hard, the GT PP is very forgiving and remains remarkably composed over the curbing. You wont hurt your car, you are not going to break anything. The brakes are so good, as a beginner the pads do not wear.

Silly question, do you go all out with the throttle while on the track? Or do you moderately apply it? Do you bang gears or shift smoothly?
Smooth is fast. Slow in fast out. Much easier said then done.

As smooth as possible. All out throttle down on the straights. I got my butt kick not being smooth when it was raining. Learned my lesson, throttle smooth as butter.

Was the blue taped front end for the track or something else? I can't think of a reason you would get more debris but you have 1 more day of track experience than me :p

Very cool. What kind of speeds were you hitting after getting through traffic? (after 5min)

That was almost full throttle in fourth gear, I was so focused, wasn't looking down to check my speed. My fastest lap time (unofficial was 1:49). I noticed that the speed record for American GTs on this track is around 1:28.

This was my first time on a track. The car is so much fun. Good luck and have a blast! if you don't know how, I advise learning heal-toe down shift. Since I didn't, it was tough down shifting quickly.
