Hey all,

This is going to be the first year I put the stang away for the winter. I live in NJ and it’s not my daily so I want to avoid the salt and snow. It will be kept as usual in my garage (not temp controlled). Any suggestions/tips? I have a quality car cover, flat spot prevention etc… what else should I do?

I know that it's not what you asked. But, how are you liking that hood? Cirvini? That is one that I want.

I got it off a buddy about a month ago. Yeah it’s a Cervini 4” cowl. I like it , hard to see directly in front of you sometimes but it looks badass

I always air up the tires, fill up with 93 octane, pull the battery and bring it inside where it's warm, hang a big moisture absorber from the hook in the car, never had an issue when spring time comes. Also in the last few years I started to put bounce dryer sheets all around and inside the car along with moth balls around the car (thanks to stupid critters where I live now).

Is fuel stabilizer necessary?
I used to use sta-bil but stopped in the last few years, I don't think it's needed for such a short storage time (4-5 months for me)... I have not had any issues since I stopped using it.

I live in southern New Jersey and, especially with the mild, snowless winters we have had, I have taken the car out for a drive numerous times. Instead of taking the battery out, I recommend a battery tender. Just disconnect it, using the quick connect system they have, and off you go. Plus, I think the tender prolongs the life of the battery. I had a 2001 Mustang Bullitt that I bought new and stupidly sold in 2018. Anyway, and this might be hard to believe, but I finally had to get a new battery after 14 years. That's why I say I think the battery tender is beneficial.

For me, I fill my gas tank up and add "stay bill" fuel stabilizer and start once every 15 days and let warm up to operating tempuature. I Keep a battery maintainer hooked to the battery the whole time. Air tires up to 35psi. Now I also have quik jacks so i can do winter mods and verify all parts are tight, no leaks etc during winter.

Battery tender, air up the tires to about 40 psi, fill the tank with whatever fuel your running and if your running E85 consider a ethanol specific fuel stabilizer.
