Ummmm...both Challenger and Charger have IRS...

https://www.edmunds.com/car-reviews/track-tests/2009-dodge-challenger-rt-suspension-walkaround.html

Maybe, I don't know, do some research before saying a bunch of dumb shit :cwl:
Just another case of magazine driving. Anyone who has driven a 2019+ charger and challenger, one, know the two cars are vastly different in feel and handling, and, two, when compared to a 2019+ gt, the charger can and will hold its own. What I can agree with is the gt will outhandle the charger, however you have to get to that point, the car doesn't just start out driving like a bowling bowl. if someone thinks that then either they drove the charger with factory wheels/tires, those little all seasons are a joke for that car, or they just haven't driven the scat 🧐

When my mustang was in the body shop I got a charger as a rental. 5.7L. I couldn't wait to get my GT back. I hated everything about that charger except the torque.

Tell me an AWD Hellcat Charger wouldn't be the bee's knees
THAT is the key. All of these cars (including the S550 GT) already have too much power for just 2WD. If you turned off traction control, these cars just sit there smoking tires, so I can imagine what 700+ HP would do. But, make an AWD model and the car would launch hard and fast. I guess that's why some Diablos had AWD options, not only does it accelerate faster, but handles well even going around corners under power. I don't know how they'd implement that into a Mustang though someone mentioned a hybrid in which case if they kept the current RWD configuration and was able to mount electric motors on each front wheel, that would give them the AWD capability.

I assumed that v6 AWD was a test for this initial thing.

Also don't forget there was seen a Mustang parts car that had the rear brakes backwards and Mach1 performance Pack wheels. That could indeed be AWD and a V8 in a Mustang with 305's

A suspected AWD mustang was seen around the roads, the rear brakes were reversed hinting at AWD.

AWD in some ways ruins the handling potential, and in other ways makes the car even faster and more practical.

A truly under appreciated AWD car was the Taurus SHO. I owned one with the performance pack. Fantastic driving car. With stock tires and a tune only the turned a 12.99 @106mph. Handled very good. Excellent brakes. My son owns it and he changed some minor stuff and it is quicker by a good 2 tenths. He's got 90K Mike's on it and runs very strong. Easily take my M1 up to 60.

Yes! This would have been the engine!
The only changes I would have made:

1) Use the predator K block, even with the improvements, any additional costs would be offset from streamlining the number of blocks between GT, Mach1 and GT500 (or whatever variants they come up with)
2) Cartridge Style oil filter
3) Use the GT500 style oil pan or at least any other typical multi-piece. The GT350 pan is molded one piece (with the windage tray not removable). This makes any sort of event where debris gets into the pan pretty much require a new pan. It also makes it less flexible for aftermarket builds that require different pickup dimensions.
4) I don't like the engine accessory drive. If they'd flip the accessories to be forward and the primary belt drive to hug the motor, that would be preferable. I realize longer belts stretch, but having 2 belts means extra dimension and that means extra torque and harmonics on the snout. I'm sure there's some sort of economic or engineering reason, but having the most tension on the outboard balancer drive isn't optimal.

I would love to shoe Horn in a 800CI Aluminum Big Block 1000HP engine in my Mustang. I don't care about racing the streets at 200mph, I just want that great TQ and Sound of a High CI engine. Vrooom

Here's a list of the dodge ring times:

Viper ACR 7:01
Viper ACR 7:12
Viper ACER 7:22
Viper GTS 8:10
Viper GTS 8:13

You know what's NOT on the list....any challenger or charger, EVER. Gee, after 13 years of the current gen challenger/charger, none of them even crack the list. Maybe they're just all sleeping in wait, fooling all those magazine drivers into believing they're road boats.

I would consider a Challenger. They are the closest thing to the old muscle cars.

But at the end of the day, bang for the buck is simple. A blower.

Mostly due to its weight and the tranny having a rep for not taking added power well. If it had something like a new DCT it would have been a solid Audi/BMW fighter.

That car came out in what? 2010? AWD, 365HP TTv6. Look at the performance luxury sedans now 11yrs later. ALL in the 350-365HP range with a 3.0TT and AWD. The only standout is the Infiniti Q50 Red Sport with a 400HP option, and Lincoln had that for a while too. The new Acura TLX Type-S is AWD and a 355hp TTv6.

Ford was early to the game, just had to much weight, and a cabin that felt a bit cramped inside. The Fusion Sport was also a nice contender, just didn't really live up to its expectations on the comfort side. I think if either had gotten the 3.0TT that Lincoln had been given they would have stood out a lot more. Either the detuned for a 350HP Fusion or full 400HP SHO (with a few hundred lbs shaved off) would have really made people take notice more.

They used to offer an AWD R/T. It got the axe with the 2015 refresh. I almost bought one, but couldn't find exactly what I wanted feature-wise. Powerwise, I also knew I would immediately be throwing boost at it.
I had no idea that even existed. If it did I probably would have looked for one when I was car hunting in 2018.
