  1. This Is Ford's Plan To Fix The Mustang's Biggest Problem

It's a great car, but like all new cars it feels a bit synthetic. Electric steering with little feel, contrived cackles and pops from the exhaust, completely silent engine while coasting, electronic rev-matching during downshifts, hill-holder, stability control, etc, etc. My older...
  2. This Is Ford's Plan To Fix The Mustang's Biggest Problem

The problem that Ford is really having is that younger people are far less interested in cars with a soul. And frankly, the S550 doesn't even have that much of a soul, but you can bet the S650 will have even less. I'm a millennial, but I happen to love cars and trucks and machinery. Most of my...
  3. Has anyone given thought to this monumental change that’s about to occur? In less than 2 years…

Hey Jeff, that's a cool car. Were you aware that GM sold the rights to that small aluminum V8 to Land Rover in England in 1969? The all aluminum small V8 was offered in every single Range Rover from 1970 through 2002, as well as a few other Land Rover models, finally ending production in the...
  4. Preferences

If we are talking about a fastback GT Premium, I must be doing something wrong because I can't even get the car to $60k...more like $57k. And a lot of those options are total fluff and don't really give you any real features or amenities. Frankly, the base model gives you a lot, I think. Full...
  5. Winter storage - what should be done?

I'm sure that's ideal. I never bought ramps, car is too low to just get underneath, plus it seems almost impossible to jack it up without modification, and it has snowed where I live several times already and the roads salted. No way is it going to a dealer for a change now.
  6. Winter storage - what should be done?

Hey folks, thanks for the suggestions. I'm not opposed to occasionally starting the car throughout the winter...you can monitor oil temp. Yeah, 10 quarts takes awhile to warm up, but it will warm up. Not hard to hold a 2000 RPM rev for a couple of minutes, either, to assist. These cars have...
  7. Winter storage - what should be done?

There's a guy in town with an S550 Bullitt and he drives it all winter. I don't want the underside of the car to rot out from salt, so I'll keep it parked.
  8. Winter storage - what should be done?

So, living in NH, my 2020 GT is about to go into an unheated garage until mid April next year. This is the first winter with my Mustang and I was curious about how winter storage should be handled. -Disconnect battery or not? (No power in garage for tender) -Overinflate the tires to help...
  9. Acceleration not smooth when engine is cold?

I've noticed this about my 2020 GT with a manual...when its cold, like a minute or two after startup and I pull into traffic, I can't seem to smoothly give the car gas. It's like the engine starts to go, then backs off a second, which causes you to try to press the pedal more, which causes...
  10. Thoughts on the 2023 Z06?

The car has stunning performance and an amazing sound. But you'd have to put a bag over your head until you got in. The rear end is uglier than the front. In my humble opinion, the C6 was the pinnacle of Corvette exterior styling. I'd love one of those in Z06 trim. The C7 was still "OK" but...
  11. 22 GT and Mach down 10hp… Is this true?

I majored in economics. That said, I have a number of geology and meteorology courses under my belt. I graduated college in 2008, so climate change was certainly a thing back then. I watched Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth." Yes, I flat out deny humans are responsible for climate change, and...
  12. 22 GT and Mach down 10hp… Is this true?

There's probably more, but with compromises. Raising the compression ratio even higher would likely provide more power. But higher fuel consumption and possibly emissions, and possibly rendering a different mix of direct and indirect injector usage, which of course affects consumption and...
  13. 22 GT and Mach down 10hp… Is this true?

I agree. The modern Mustang is full of theater and drama, from the loud cold start to the little Mustang Ponys projected under the mirrors, to the lit door sills, to the changeable ambient lighting to the four exhaust tips, to the variable exhaust sound, to the "ground speed" on the speedometer...
  14. 22 GT and Mach down 10hp… Is this true?

I was aware some vehicles (mostly German) were already installing GPFs, but only in Europe. I did not know they were doing it on the Mustang. That said, I highly doubt they are installing them here in the US. Besides HP, you'd see another major change...the price. DPFs on diesel vehicles are a...
  15. 22 GT and Mach down 10hp… Is this true?

It's the same engine. If power needs to be reduced, it doesn't make sense they would both need to lose the same amount. In other words, if the Mach 1 can be compliant at 470, there's no reason the GT cannot remain compliant at 460. Forget if it makes a difference in the real world or not...
  16. 22 GT and Mach down 10hp… Is this true?

Back to the original topic, if the Mach 1 can still produce 470HP and meet emissions compliance, why can't the GT continue to make 460 and meet emissions? I'm assuming the GT took a cut for the sole purpose of making the Mach 1 appear to maintain its HP advantage.
  17. 22 GT and Mach down 10hp… Is this true?

US manufacturing moved to China out of greed. American workers lost their jobs so large corporations could make more profit exploiting the backs of cheap Chinese labor, and manufacturing facilities that did not have to follow US safety or environmental regulations. Now, the US and Europe both...
  18. 22 GT and Mach down 10hp… Is this true?

I certainly believe in "climate change" but our planet has been experiencing climate change since its inception. The naivety comes in when humans think they can somehow control this change, whether negatively or positively. There are a thousand uncontrolled variables included in so called...
  19. 22 GT and Mach down 10hp… Is this true?

That's total nonsense and I truly feel sorry for those whom have been snowed into this way of thinking so the elites can create a new class of oligarchs. However, I don't want to get to political so I'll keep it to that. Back to the EV's, if I run out of gas on my 4-wheeler a few miles in the...
  20. 22 GT and Mach down 10hp… Is this true?

The most recent example I can think of for Ford is the 6.2L V8 currently found in the Super Duty. It was developed around 2005 for the Mustang, and originally called the "Hurricane" motor. Katrina hit before it was supposed to be introduced, and decision makers decided it should not be called...
