I like to disassemble things.
One thing is for sure...Ford didn't make the change because it increased manufacturing costs. This was a turd of a decision and apparently not properly vetted to boot. The fact that anyone that suffered a failure didn't get injured is a miracle. Color me shocked that Ford is in no hurry to notify owners (until November) that their braking system may, in effect, suffer a total failure at the moment it is needed most.

WTF Ford #29 and counting.

I wonder how the people that tracked their cars are taking this news.

I was supposed to be on track here at Roebling today but got rained out. Having another go of it Wednesday. Ford's timing is impeccable.

Another question would be, did the pre-March cars get a better bracket?
Mar 2019 would have been the 2019 MY. They mentioned that the previous bracket was made of nylon.

Being that mine was produced on 7/2/2020 I fall within this timeframe, my question is twofold, a> How can the dealer know for sure without just saying your fine and send you on your merry way and b> are there replacements on the ready and what are they using as replacements? Cause my dealership service is great and something like this he would be on top of it.

I just spoke with the Dealership where I bought my GT500, as of now I look clear according to their information on my car, but they will keep me in the loop if anything changes. I've got my fingers crossed.

It looks like we are not clear just yet.
@Epiphany
Maybe Tob can get with his parts guy and see if our cars share the same bracket with the other Mustangs.

The part number differs between 2020 Mustangs with an Auto Transmission and the 2020 GT500. The bracket comes with the pedal (one assembly) but the difference in part numbers can possibly be attributed to the pad on the pedal being different. Here is something though, I went to order the pedal/bracket assembly for MY car and was told not available as it was part of a recall and the parts will not be available until November 2nd. So looks like my GT500 will be part of the recall even though my VIN is not showing up as such yet.

That's interesting. Close but I believe different than what I learned a few hours ago. My man Bryan, Ford Parts guru par excellence, was already on this before I could even ask him and he sent an email my way to be laid out here. He spotted three non-manual transmission pedal assembly examples for 2020 Mustangs. First was a typical '20 Mustang assembly. He shows that the initial part number and the most recent number it changed to (or the most current version).
FR3Z 2455 AA STANDARD FOOT PEDAL PAD DESIGN changes to FR3Z 2455 AE.

This was the second one, I'm guessing Bullitt or a higher end GT.
FR3Z 2455 C UNIQUE MET FINISH FOOT PEDALS

Lastly, there was no listing for the GT500 (like many 2020 GT500 parts that Ford has yet to get caught up on). Bryan knows the game well, so he used the VIN from my car (for example) and went through the BOM or Bill of Materials for the build and came up with the following number...
2020 GT500 FR3Z 2455 AB changes to FR3Z 2455 AF. So the AF suffix would designate the most current GT500 pedal assembly. He also mentioned the note about November 2nd. I got the sense from him that the GT500 may not be part of the recall but Ford always seems to intentionally be ambiguous so that they can provide clarity down the road when they have a better grasp on the entire issue.

This is one of the part numbers on the recall FR53 2455-AF, sounds a lot like FR3Z 2455- AF.

Tob, looks like we are pretty close in our findings. The part number I got for the GT500 also was FR3Z 2455 AB and like I said in the earlier post, when I went to order it, the number had changed to the one you mentioned, FR3Z 2455 AF which like we found out, will not be available until November 2nd if that even happens. I do have it on order and will post back when I get the part in.

Earl, I don't know if that part number you listed, FR53 2455 AF is a good number. I say that because generally for Mustang parts, there needs to be a Z in the 3rd or 4th character of the first set. Maybe that is a manufacturing number or something. All I know is FR3Z 2455 AF is the updated part listed for my VIN and the one I have on order.
