Muffler Deletes, Don't Do It!

I was foolish enough to delete my mufflers based off of video sound clips.

If you are thinking about doing this, find someone local who has it done and try to get a ride along before pulling the trigger.

My car now sounds like a nasty Harley from about 4.5k rpm and up. I had two coworkers drive my car this morning to see if I was crazy and they said the exact same thing without me telling them my thoughts on how it sounds.

There are a few catbacks that are loud when you want only, and have a very refined and engineered sound. Mufflers have more than one function ;)

Lol.... I just installed an x pipe on my 18 GT and it's borderline annoying. Mostly embarrassing :headbonk:

I remote start the car with the garage door shut because of the noise when the engine is cold.

I think I need to come up with a better solution. Good thing I kept the stock resonator.

If you don't like a more "muscle car" exhaust note, you will not like muffler deletes. I had muffler deletes with an H-Pipe and it sounded great in lower rpms, cruising to moderate acceleration. I was just never 100% satisfied with the sound at WOT being the reason I went a different direction.

I don't think this sounds bad, but that's just my opinion.

Oh well, it was a $40 experiment gone bad.

I drove to summit and picked up a Gibson catback during lunch. All is good now.
