Looks like Oil starvation from HIGH-G + HIGH RPM + HIGH HEAT = two spun rod bearings.
I wonder if the Royal Purple 5W-30 was a bit too thin for a long track run where the oil gets pretty hot. Might consider using a 0W-40 or 5W-50 next time.

Do you have an oil temperature gauge on your car? If so, what was the max oil temperature seen?

Looks like you’re making some great progress!

That engine is going to rock once you get it out on the road again!

The hood selection and the center vent looks great too, very nice upgrade!

How much oil does the Moroso pan hold and what type of springs did you go with?

Any plans on adding an accusump? Would be cheap insurance for that 5 figure motor and presumably 8000+ rpm.

The moroso pan hold 9 quarts. I had not really considered an oil Accumulator... but now I am.

You should check out Honeybadger's GT350 engine build thread in the GT 350 section. Different motors obviously, but his is track dedicated, and I believe that he is using an accusump system of some kind to protect against starvation. He's a good source of info.

Hmm that's a bit dissapointing, only 1 more quart than stock.

The GT500 unit looks really nice, hold like 11.5 quarts and come with a beefier pump too. All for $800, you should check it out

With that large of a pan poking from the k-member, how much ground clearance is there?

Well, theoretically no less than the GT500 has.

And that pan is mainly wider than just deep, similar to the FP350S pan.

Interesting - can this be purchased from Ford Performance as an upgrade or just via reg Ford Parts online?
