Hello,

I attended my first HPDE event two weeks ago, with a completely stock ecoboost non-pp with A10. The car did fine during the morning sessions, but then during the afternoon the brake pads were done, and then the car cut the power.

Since I wanted to make my car better, I bought a GT PP brembo +rotor takeoff kit from shelbyauctions and installed them today! Brake shield was missing but I can always get 15-17 shields for 15 dollars each... I plan to get G-LOC R8 pads for the front and rear.

However, I don't know where to move from here. I am looking to resolve cooling issues before working on my suspension or chassis. Is slapping CVF race intercooler going to be enough? I intend to keep the tunes stock. Thank you!

Garrett IC...they make the turbo so you know it's a match. Not the cheapest but it's the best and CARB.

I don't even notice it's there and never have issues even on hottest days.

Can install easily with bumper on.

Is there enough airflow to actually work? Granted the stock ic is a sick joke... I had a Wagner race Ic but it needed a steady 30mph to work.

The chassis and suspension are the worst features of the car. Thankfully it's not super expensive to rectify.

Your A10 is desperate for cooling. There's threads dedicated to that topic. It generally involves a setrab.

The Ford fuel tune is utter shite. I correct tune makes power properly and probably runs lower temps to boot.

Have you taken it to track days? I am a novice, so my guess is that I won't be really pulling as hard as advanced drivers can.

I see you are tracking with an EB! What mods do you do to keep your car running on track days?

As already stated, stock Brembo pads will work fine for your application at this point in time. You absolutely have to get a better intercooler; there's several options but whatever you choose will be much better than the junk OEM intercooler... the CVF is a fine choice. Your Ecoboost will continue to cut power until you upgrade that intercooler.

Buy Vorschlag S550 brake cooling deflector kit plates to help direct cooling air to your front rotors and that will more than take care of any leftover brake heat issues at your level of experience and stock Ecoboost performance. Before you track again, UPGRADE YOUR BRAKE FLUID. Motul 600 or 660, or Castrol SRF. Do NOT skip this step and do NOT use your OEM brake fluid for the track.

Now after all that is done go enjoy!

Haha Thank you. I actually flushed my brake fluid and filled up with motul 660 while I installed the 6p brembo brake :D Thank you for the brake cooling deflector kit. I will look into them too

you're biggest disadvantage is your non-pp has the smaller radiator, as the turbo is coolant cooled. pretty much what gjarrett said. use a good engine oil too.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. Put in a PP radiator. :)

if you are willing to go "full racecar" venting the hood improves a lot of issues, but then your engine gets rained on.

Yep he's a great guy get his instead :) Either will do you good.

Thanks.
Mine are larger and yet better clearance to the barrel of wide wheels, and also accommodate a spherical bearing as a future mod. The laser-cut edges are very nice, too.
