This poll is was waste! Dude that started don't even have a car much less a car with an issue. And where is the option for no transmission thud? Or how about adding the PP half shaft thud in the the poll? People always wanting to blame the Chinese crap first
Your correct I don't have the car yet. So I don't know if it will even have a issue. I certainly wasn't blaming the Chinese transmission. I was more curious to see which configuration showed a thud. Was it only 1 configuration or was it something in all the manual cars. So if you think this is still a waste of time. Then I don't know what to tell you. But for me it has giving me some insight that my car is most likely going to have this thud.

Get the thud going into third sometimes.

I am more concerned with the way going into first sometimes makes the whole car jerk...when I am stopped and have the clutch all the way in.

It's the stock half-shafts. I just did BMR's bushings (cradle and diff) and their toe rods and vert links so I had the whole rear out of the car. There is slop in the half shafts and I am 99% sure that's where the noise is coming from. When you go to shift the shafts are unloaded and any play will cause the noise.

Does anyone have the upgraded shafts and still have the thud?

Hmmm, must be also some slop in the torsen then. I really don't care about it, at least I know the damn thing is in gear lol. I'm more concerned with shutting up the diff now that I have the poly bushings on it. The whine is cool, but gets old. Hoping some amsoil will help a little, but if not, i'll just turn the radio up..

I took notice to the thud sitting at a light a few months ago. Without putting the clutch in and just nudging the shifter towards the gears, not actually engaging the gear, still in neutral, the thud would be there. Just something I took notice to, then realized its under warranty and forgot about it. I did change the trans fluid for Amsoil. I'll have to actually pay attention and see if it made a difference for whatever reason.

GT convertible with 3.55 gears. Has thud. Most noticeable when shifting while moving, but occasionally hear it when going into first at standstill.

that red truck fed the dude up right before launch. You can here him talk about him.

Man that base gt PP left 15 foot marks in 3rd and left some rubber down, tires where hooked up. Pre-take off, first , second and third. 12.74 nice

Ecoboost PP with 8.5k miles. Have not had any kind of thud. Do get a little gear rattle if I quickly push in the clutch after starting to pull away from a stop.

I test drove a GT PP this weekend and felt some kind of thud through the shifter when shifting into first
