Since most of you apparently need the most basic of instruction on how to drive a manual transmission, Ford has decided to help you stay out of their service departments with your ridiculous complaints of "it's noisy", "it's clunky", "it makes a thud".

It is noisy, it is clunky, and it does thud 1-2, 2-3, and 3-4. I don't know what lecturing us on how to put it in reverse has to do with anything, and I think we all know the mechanics of using the clutch as part of the gear change process.
Does the MT82 have reverse synchros? A lot of trans do not. May be why they are telling people this. Not everyone understands that reverse gear often operates a bit different. They are usually straight cut gears too instead of helical.
Been shifting mine just fine with and without the clutch - up and down. No problems, odd sounds, bumps, etc. Like the trans; much better than my Cobra's 3650.
