After research If I do go manny il just go with 3:55s and buy 20s aftermarket and use the 18s as snow tires . Only thing I think il be missing on is the brembos and as a dd I'm not sure if that matters

I live in L.A. so I hear where you're coming from with the traffic concerns. Bumper to bumper in a sports car SUCKS, so I had the same thinking when I test drove Mustang GT with the manual transmission.

I'd rank it up there as one of the better feeling shifters I've felt, I didn't care for the clutch point or feel but guys have been making a simple modification to help. I set my nitpicks aside and gave it serious thought. Stick or no stick?

I wound up ordering Auto with 3.55 and after 11 days with the car, I couldn't be happier. The reason? I'm bumper to bumper surrounded by distracted drivers every day and the auto makes life in that environment so much easier.

When it comes to having fun, Sport+ is amazing and the paddle shifters work like a dream. Being able to switch seamlessly from manual control to auto is one of the coolest things about the car....that and the auto rev-matching. Remote start is nice, too.

If you don't get the manual you will always wish you did! I drive in traffic every day but love to shift the grears anyway.

Ya it just comes to preference and goals I guess. Traffic suck donkey balls here it's bad as im sure a lot of big cities are. And my plan is to have a 10 sec car the auto can handle that just fine the mt82 is famous for not being able to handle it for long. Sucks back roads and around town I like stick but highway I like the auto . Should design a system you could do both with a shifter haha

It sucks that the manual is weaker than the automatic, I was always used to it being the opposite assuming the manual had a beefy clutch.

So this has been killing me I truly want a manual trans but... I live in Chicago commute daily in one hour bumper to bumper traffic. And then the plan down the road is a roots style blower . This will be a dd 365 to include winters. I had ordered a auto with the 3.55s but before I sink 40k how do you guys handle traffic? Please don't turn this into an auto vs manny war this is simply for my application and tips thanks.
All new supercars are come with automatic and paddle shifters. Save your leg, and your frustration. Go with auto, you've got paddle shifters so there's still manual control of the gears.

The days of the old Ford Top Loader, Muncie M-22 rock crusher and the Mopar 833 18 spline hemi box are transmissions of the past when 4 speeds ran supreme. Now a days, look at the junk they give us.....

And those are the primary reasons that traffic goes nowhere in my area. The light can turn green and people are still sitting there with their faces buried in their phones.
And then the copper comes up on a bike and they all get in trouble!!!:first:copper:D

I've had no issues dealing with traffic in my manual, 3.55 equipped Mustang. I've spent a lot of time in traffic with a manual before I bought my latest Mustang so there were no surprises. It's not significantly different that any other manual car, except it can "leap forward" much more aggressively than most when you want it to.

Its all about clutch control, you can move that car going 1mph even if you want to. I grew up in europe and we never had autos, i m also used to going bumper to bumper traffic with maybe an inch or not away from the car infront of me. If you live in a crowded city with traffic and not use to manual transmission, i ll suggest the auto transmittion just to be on the safe side, however a car like this with clutch will put a huge smile on your face everyday!

oh I ranted about how easy this manual car is to deal with even in dense traffic, but I forgot to mention what everyone else is saying here, the manual is WAY more fun.

Every time I watch these videos involving before/after modifications, or just general aggressive driving in an auto mustang, I shed a tear every time I hear a buttery smooth gearchange :..( Rowing this car (especially the GT) is just such a fun event in absolutely any situation, whether you're using a few fingers or throwing it in. Automatic in this car? no offense, but plastic paddles? What about the little dopamine spike you get with clever footwork on a downshift, or a perfect double clutch?

Never compare paddles with rowing gears.
