I recently got a flex fuel tune from PBD and made my first E85 fill up Saturday night for my 19 GT MT82. Sunday I got stuck in stand still traffic on i95 on a 90 degree day and it cut off on me out of nowhere. It started right back up and drove fine until I pulled into my driveway and cut off on me again. Has anyone come across this before? Couldn't find any threads of this particular issue happening.

It Has to learn the ethanol content. It won’t learn until you drive it above a certain RPM for a certain period of time

are you on the base tune or the final? you can do more datalogs and send it to them.
I've been running my final 93 tune for a bout a month. I just requested the e85 and FF tunes last week and finally loaded the FF tune and filled up once i got to an empty tank. would they need to revise the tune again?

How long a drive would you suggest to try to get the PCM to learn the E85. Apologies for the questions this is my first time trying to run corn

74.12597 miles.

Fer chrissake, just get out and drive it. At differing speeds and RPMS. The car needs to do a bunch of learning.

I’m running the Lund Flex tune in my car. When you put 4 gallons or more in the tank, it resets the alcohol content relearn. Start the car and let it idle for about 10 min., then drive at normal speeds (no WOT) until the alcohol content flag changes to a red 1 on the nGauge and you’re good to go.

you need to datalog every single tune for them to do any corrections... they sent me a base 93, a base e85... asked for datalogs on both and after that they sent the final tunes... and even after those final tunes, you can do more datalogs if you feel some details need correction

I had maybe 3 stalls in the 2 years I've been on E85 R - always happened at a stop and started right back up. My attitude was screw it, and I kept on going with no troubles. Car runs great and makes really good power - S'all good man. On the dyno everything was perfect so I'm not worried.

OP: What the alcohol content of your E85?

I thought Ford recommends 75 miles to be certain.

they asked for my data logs for my 93 tune and i got my final tune from them and it has been working great. They never suggested any datalogs when i bought the additional octane tunes, they just used my logs from my original tune

they suggested to a KAM reset. I'm going to do so and take that "74.973 mile" drive and see how it does

idk with the flex, but they asked me for data logs on both fuels... If i'm you, I'll do one on full e85 and send it to them... they won't charge you extra... better clear any possible bug sooner than later
