Your one anecdote doesn’t speak for the entire industry. So you can call it a “crock of shit” but that doesn’t make it fact. That’s all a complete crock of shxt. No installer is getting near any of my cars with a blade because they don’t have the equipment(to cheap to buy a plotter) or buy enough material to have access to the patterns. Xpel has the best patterns in the business but they don’t come for free. Even the best “custom installer” makes mistakes. I’ve painted literally thousands of cars. Blade cuts are right there with vehicles getting keyed in pain in the … to do a repair. I can’t even count how many cars I‘ve seen where some “custom installer” has left blade marks on the body of a car. A very good friend of mine does all my stuff. His shop is part of a high end body shop here. They have a brand new 911 in there now that the dealer sent the car to a ”custom installer” to try and make more on the backend of the ppf instsllation then paying him to do it. 1/2 the car is being detrimmed to be repainted because there‘s blade marks on the front end and quarters. It’s a 12-15k repair.
