Is there really a difference? I test drove one without and one with it but couldn’t really tell there was a difference. What should I be looking for?

Switch between the drive modes.. You will notice a difference in the suspension stiffness regardless of the transmission.

First couple of times I switched from normal to sport my passengers noticed it more than I did. Now after getting more time driving in, I can tell a big difference in how it rides, handles, and steers. I now much prefer sport over normal even if it rides a bit stiffer. If the wife is with me, then normal is the rule. She was the first to notice the difference in the ride.
I have just under 600 miles on my PP2. I drove it yesterday just to put some break in miles on it. I drove some pretty crooked county roads to vary the RPM and get used to shifting again. I was in sport mode for the first half of the drive. I stopped at a friend's house for a short visit, and when I left I forgot to put it back in sport since it defaults back to normal after turning it off. First place I went after the visit was a local Park that is one sharp curve after another. It didn't take long to realize I was back in normal, and I could tell the difference when I went to sport in the way it handled the curves.

Is it still possible to lower the car any when it has the mag-ride suspension?

Ford performance makes a kit that includes springs, sway bars, and a Magnaride tuner for non PP2, and Shelby GT 350 cars. It lowers the car about 3/4 of an inch.
I've thought about this kit for my PP2 minus the tuner, but I'm really happy with it stock. If I had gotten a PP1 with Magnaride, I would have gotten this kit.

Put it in Track the next time you take that route. It's a noticeable step up from Sport, maybe even more than from Normal to Sport. But it's definitely a little more jarring for everyday driving. Mine pretty much stays in Sport mode, but I will occasionally dial it up to track just to enjoy how planted it becomes in the curves.

It was 65 degrees here yesterday and today. Calling for snow again tomorrow. Took it out for a spin yesterday and drove it to work today. Anybody considering M6 and Magneride, give the PP2 a serious look. I really enjoy everything about this car.

This is true. The car changes quite a bit between the modes.

I love the blue, Silver Bullitt . If I had ordered mine I would have ordered either the velocity blue or the Kona blue (or was it deep impact blue this year?). Since I chose from what was in stock, I got Magnet Grey, which was on my list too.
