Paying the tax is ok as long as it goes for something good, but it hurts :D
It's crazy high considering everything
The rich irony is that Scandinavian countries are held in high regard by the "Democratic Socialists" in our country, as an example of how y'all get "free" healthcare and "free" college educations.

I chuckle when I hear these platitudes because for several years I have worked for Danish companies and thus go to Denmark just about monthly on business trips. Speaking to a lot of Danes (as I do) will quickly make it apparent that they are not thrilled with taxes, particularly the ~150% sales tax on a new car and the gas prices (~$8 per gallon). So you are right, we ARE spoiled over here in the US.

When I told my Danish colleagues I was buying a new car (they know I'm a Mustang fan) they were ribbing me and saying I was surely buying the Mach E!

because that's all their "virtue signal or we'll MAKE you" gov't allows them to buy. By rigging the tax code.

my dad works over there, tomorrow is his last day after 4 years. He can't stand it, except for the insane amount of money they pay him to consult.

Hey guys,

So I managed to get some prices for the options on the Mach 1. Unfortunately, there’s no information yet on the handling package, but everything else for the most part has prices released

Base price: $51,720
700a: $1,595
Recaro leather sport seats: $1,595
10 speed automatic trans: $1,595
Mach 1 elite package (B&O sound system, security package, etc.) $1295
Red brake calipers: $495
Voice activated navigation: $595
Appearance package: $995
Handling package: $3500
ADM $5000-10K

The only problem I have with it is it would have been nice to offer a Tremec
Why would anyone pay adm on a ford product??
More like on anything? Maybe I’m just old but why anyone would pay more than the price on an item I just don’t understand. You used to pay less than MSRP heck it was a given on all cars.

I came out of the consumer electronics/computer field. Look at the cost of a big screen TV and/or PC today vs 5-10 years ago. Even today if you want a run of the mill 65" TV you are going to pay hundreds, if you want the best it is still going to cost thousands. Funny part is they are not all that different. Kind of like a GT and a Mach 1. If you want the latest, & best, you are going to pay for it.

sure..but you dont go and pay $3000 for a TV that is listed for $2000, i think that is what he was getting at.

Exactly.
To be honest I have pretty much been able to get what I want and have yet and never will pay ADM. I have to admit it is to the point I’m not willing to go through the process again. What’s next ADM on Tesla’s??

For the same reason someone would pay ADM for a Rolex. They want it.
Of course. I was merely pointing out the foolishness of it.

You still can pay less than msrp. Nothing has changed if you stick to your guns
