My guess (although just a guess) is it is a new boss. I remember reading one of the press releases and they brought up how they wanted to achieve 525 HP but that would be more deserving in a boss which would require a racing program.

Does anyone know if there is an option to get the Mach 1 without stripes?

You didn’t say but I presume we are talking about the S650. A “Boss” version would be the perfect 1st special edition for the new model. So now that Ford has “leaked” this information to its dealers I wonder how long it will take for the official announcement.

For road racing I'd want the warranty. I've talked to someone who seriously road races an A10 and has smoked 3 transmission with all kinds of added cooling. If Ford really got it 75% more cooling it might be worth it. Plus a Mach 1 will likely hold more value than standard GT so you get warranty and that. I want a car that is good on a road course off the lot which is why I should have bought a GT350 but that ship has sailed (more than likely) so I'm looking at the Mach 1. The A10 is a possibility but honestly I'll probably just take the Tremec and be happy.
I agree with your assessment. I am going to see next year if I can get a 2020 GT 350 that is still on the lot. If I don’t find one I want under sticker, then I will get the Mach 1 handling package with the Tremec. I just couldn’t buy the GT 350 this year, or else I would done it.

It will be in the next gt350...
Whilst I don't doubt the GT350 will return, a big block engine seems an odd choice for it. GT500, sure, but the GT350 should be light on its feet. At the very least, the 6.8 would need an aluminium block, especially if it were to go in a GT350.

Ironically, it would have been a better fit for the Mach 1 !! (as they were often big engined street bruisers, not track weapons)

I guess it depends on what your definition of affordable is. Pricing for special Mustangs has been established and will only go in one direction, up. Also these cars are meant for the few, that’s what makes them special.
