Trying to predict resale value in a couple years is a fool’s errand (no offense meant). Personally, I would find a color (or a couple) that really moves you, buy it and enjoy it.

But we all have different tastes which is what makes the car hobby so great. If FJG is a color that moves you, go for it and don’t worry about resale in a few years.
I totally agree with finding a color you like and enjoy the car! When I decided to buy a Mach 1 the only car at a dealer nearby was an FJG. Once my copilot saw that color in person it was game over with that decision. I have no regrets plus the orange accents pay homage to a hugger orange Chevelle SS I lost to a wildfire. These cars are awesome and you will enjoy it no matter what color hood you’re looking over.

Being old, I had the opportunity to be a senior in high school the year the Ford Mustang was introduced. There were so many "WOW" colors that it was hard not to like about any choice. I just looked at the choices for the 2024 Mustang and wondered who picks some of these colors. The new Dark Horse has blue seats, period. You can have any shade of gray you want!!

The window sticker on this one in PA looks nice. I wonder if it's still available. Most likely not.

I believe I looked at this posting a couple of days ago. It has the track package that I'm not interested in. There's actually a MACH in my town in FJG with the right options but it has close 10K miles on it. Again, I can't at this point warm up to FJG. White or Red would spark my interest and it must have the A-10 Auto and no RECAROS.

Grabber blue looks great on an S-550, I know, I've had two 550's and both were grabber blue. If I could have found a Mach 1 in orange, I would have bought it.

I've heard that roughly 50% of all mach's were FJG, that would explain why every other used mach is FJG. Ford has a history of pushing a certain color on certain cars, and FJG was the preferred color on the mach 1.

In the end just buy what you like and don't worry about resale value. In 50 years or so the iconic colors might be worth a few bucks more, but then again the rare colors might be worth more.

If I was looking at Machs, I would be getting FJG and nothing else. Best color on them, imo.

Different colors have their “optimal” lighting. I find that iconic silver shines under bright sunlight or flourescent. It is subdued during dusk and nighttime and easy to color match with red/black. Good luck with your choice.

When I did the Track Attack I was in awe on the colors. I almost wish I could have walked through the paddock before I picked a color. The yellow was something I would have not considered but looked great on the Mach 1. Race Red was a consideration, as was black. After seeing the cars, I am glad I went with my Eruption Greem. But seeing them all together was a cool experience.

Now that is one nice looking car! The wheels IMHO make the car. I just don't like the standard wheels on the Mach 1. I could get a new GT for the price of a used Mach 1 but the Mach 1 is unique. I owned 4 Bullitt Mustangs. I liked the unique model and color. I wish Ford had offered the A-10 Auto in the BULLITT.
I'll keep looking. In the interim, I'll enjoy my Shelby and try to sell it if possible. The car market is a little crazy right now. We'll see!

I must agree with you on the color as being the iconic color. Mach and Fighter Jet has the connection. The color IMHO is a bit blah compared to red or white.
Will people like FJG at a car cruise?
At this point, I see BLAH colors of gray, and blue on many new cars.
I'm in my 70's so maybe that's a problem!
Get a bright colored Mach 1! Nothing better than a colorful muscle car, just like the classics were.
Yellow, red, orange, green, maybe purple.

While I really like the FJG, If I were to do it again, I would do Mischievous Purple.
Color will be a personal preference. I would say to pick something that you like. Don't settle.

Good suggestion.
I'm hoping a white Mach 1 w/ A-10, standard seats, and better wheels shows up. 2023 with low miles would be great. I'll wait....sooner or later!

I've been looking at used 2023 Mach 1's out there. I found a Mach in Fighter Jet Gray with all the options i like. I'm not sure if this is the color I want. If I decide to swap the car in a couple of years, will this color be a poor seller? Last year it seemed as though most dealers had one of these. Wil this be the color to own?
We have had customers who order the Fighter Jet Gray and it seemed to be a popular color! Most don't like their vehicle color to stand out too much, so that option is neutral and I am sure someone out their will buy it from you when you do sell it!

I mean absolutely no disrespect to the FJG owners, but I personally think the "primer gray" look is a car fad that that isn't going to stay popular in a few years. I thought it was super cool when it first came out. Now that I've seen it EVERYWHERE, the novelty has worn off and I think it's kinda meh.

Dont get me wrong, it does look nice WITH the M1 stripes. And it has a cool name. But quite honestly, all the colors look great on these cars. To me FJG is just too common and over played.

But thats just my worthless opinion. It may very well stay a desirable color and be easier to sell in the future. That said, I say get the color YOU like and don't worry about resale. YOLO. 👍🏻
