Lund tune

Hello every one. Hope everyone is doing well. This is my first post here and I’m in need of some help and understanding. I just bought my first Mustang about a month ago a 22 manual grabber blue with 6,400 miles on it.

I would like to do a tune on the car. But how should I approach this? I have read doing a cai isn’t really worth it that the stock is just as good ( also I did get rid of the carbon filter) so use the money else where like cat back exhaust or tune. What mod should I do first ? When it comes to the tune which one should I get. I thought about a flex tune.

Catback probably isn't worth it either

lund doesn't do flex tunes anymore do they?

Cat back gains are minimal at best, just noise makers until you do bigger mods (boost mainly)... Intake is the same, although I did an intake, headers and a tune on my 22 GT when I had it. The gains were noticeable (although I didn't dyno, the "butt" dyno could tell)....

As far as tune, I did Wengerd on my GT and my current Mach 1 (no mods, only tune) and I am very happy with it..

Unfortunately since the car is manual you can't get the real advantage of a tune on this platform which is adjusting the transmission behavior.

I have a FBO setup with an e85 tune on a manual car, and the difference is not worth the money in my opinion, you'd be better off spending that cash on fixing the handling of the car first. The stock tune is very good and will make more power if given higher octane fuel automatically.

I have a cat back, headers, cai and lund tune. The only thing I really noticed after loading the tune was much improved throttle response and the car did feel a bit quicker or more nimble lets say, but it could be placebo effect. Either way, I don't think it was worth the money. Lund has an E85 tune, which I would do, but in my state there are only 2 stations that sell it. One is a 30 minute drive, the other is an hour so unfortunately it wasn't an option but that's where you'd feel most of the gains. Saving money for boost now :rockon: that's where the coyote really shines.

What’s your overall goal for the car as far as performance mods go? I have a 2019 Bullitt tuned by Lund for 91-93, Flex, E85 and E85 (with nitrous). All tunes have treated me well, although I only ran the 91-93 tune in the very beginning when data logging for Lund. I’ve used the other three a lot, with the Flex tune getting the most use.

I would suggest doing all performance mods that you intend to do first before tuning the car, otherwise going back for revisions (after their included 6 month window) is going to be an additional charge.

While there is a power gain with E85 on an FBO car, other benefits are cooler burning fuel and less carbon buildup up on pistons/rings etc.

Not looking to any thing crazy just would like to gain some more power and torq. Would like to make what the 24 Mustang make which is 480 and 415 torq for right now.

You might get close by going FBO. I didn’t quite make it there, with catted LTHs, Steeda X-pipe, factory Active Exhaust and a PMAS (no tune required) CAI, I ended up at 469 rwhp/434 rwtq on my E85R tune with One Ethanol S fuel in the tank. Now my Lund E85R nitrous tune definitely did it to the tune of 639 rwhp/602 rwtq on a 150 shot.
