Im at 8600 miles in, 14 mos old and it hasn’t had any issues.. knock on wood…
What do you guys think, is a Lund tune a huge improvement on the trans shifting?
worth it? i guess it depends on your level of content with how your trans is shifting. I wanted the E85 tune, so the cost of the tune was worth it for me. the shifting improvement was an added benefit to the power increase i was after. i dont think i could justify spending $800 for just shifting improvements unless my car was shifting very poorly. and if that were the case, id look into why it's doing that on its own, rather than trying to fix it with a tune. if you get a 91 and up tune that will also improve your trans shifting, that would be a better justification for spending the $800 IMO.

i cannot speak to anything regarding lund tuning as I have never used them but I have a Livernois tune on my 19 GT with A10. I have been very happy with it. I also never had any issues or complaints with jerkiness or snappy shifting to begin with, however. all the issues people complain about, I have never experienced. The livernois tune makes the trans shift more aggressively and i enjoy it more. I would imagine as far as tuning goes for the A10, it's fairly consistent whether it's livernois, lund, or another reputable tuner.

The one and only thing ive noticed is that occasionally I end up with a sometimes jerky low speed drive which is probably more related to throttle response. the throttle response seems improved when I am on the livernois tune, which overall is good and a definite improvement, yet sometimes when I am driving slowly down the block i find myself jerking it a little bit. Ive concluded this is more likely from me not adjusting properly to the increased throttle response and sensitivity. again, not a negative of the tune and not the fault of livernois by any means, just the nature of the beast and having a better throttle response. this might be the only thing in my experience that affect your driving experience with a tune/tuned A10. it's maybe less dramatic with a manual and working the clutch yourself. it is certainly not enough to make me hold back from getting or using a tune.
Thanks Dennis, this is exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for.
Livernois seemed to be more popular couple years ago and now making a comeback.

I get what you're saying, $800 for some smoother shifting is a lot. Lund said honestly their 91-93 tune is realistically 8-10 hp and maybe you will notice it if the 93 octane gas is really good quality. All these other claims of 30hp on a 93 tune are probably not true on the Gen 3 coyote, especially a maxed out stock Mach 1.
I've actually now started looking into the newest TSB's for the A10, I wonder if my car which was built in Feb/March of 21 applies.

Wow just catching up on this from yesterday but wengerd for the trolling win.

Good luck on the trans tuning OP. I've been tuned by Lund for 65k miles at multiple different power levels and the car runs strong. Can't comment on the A10 to help though. I'm still set on rowing my own gears.

Revisiting this post is like stepping into a room where 500 pounds of poop was thrown back and forth. Just slowly back away......

not sure how much of a power increase i got as i have never had this car on a dyno, stock or tuned. i can really feel a difference with the E85, just seat of your pants type deal. i havent spent enough time on the 91 tune to get an idea of how it compared to stock, aside from the trans changes. when i changed from stock to 91 tune i could feel the difference in the trans by the time i got to the end of the block. changing to E85 was obviously quite noticeable. my guess is that with any of the reputable tuners the power increase is going to be fairly similar. livernois, lund, PBD, etc are the ones that come to mind first. only so much to work with and all seem to tune a fair amount of cars and likely know their stuff. i cant see going wrong with any. customer service has been great with livernois, just for what it's worth. the guy who responds to all my emails does so quickly and addresses everything thoroughly.

Thanks Dennis, this is exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for.

i remember reading about them all the time but never used them because they didnt seem to do much with SBFs, and i was working on my 95 pushrod 5.0. they seemed to do more modular stuff so i never paid much attention back then. i had their tunes on my 18 explorer Sport and liked it, and now again on the mustang. not a single complaint so far.

We replied to every email. We do business via email.

You threatening that you will blast us for not doing exactly what you ask/calling you ect didn't impress us.

Not exactly the type of customer we will go out of our way for...

As for all our other customers you are much appreciated and we respond usually in under 20 min as most of you all know.
In today‘a age of political correctness I love a company that doesn’t take shit and is willing to defend their position ( right or wrong). When it comes time to tune my 2022 ( if it is at all possible to do so) I will definitely give you guys a look :)

Man I just was reading though this hole post. I can say a few things.

I have had many mustangs tuned 2015 and up. Small shop near me. Worst tune ever. Requested a refund.
VMP was great.
bu last 4 cars I used Lund for a bunch of combos and they never let me down. Cars always performed perfect.

Just picked up a 23 Mach with a A10 and getting a 93 and e85 tune right away. That stock a10 shifting is bad. There a10 shift schedule is so much better and makes the car more enjoyable to drive.

Sidenote, if someone’s bashing your shop, just let them do it. By responding you’re giving them shine. Don’t feed into it. The forms are toxic. lol.

Dude, looking back , I should not of said that. I was getting frustrated with our emails because you just couldn’t answer my questions, seemed like you didn’t care to earn my business but you poke around on the forum to get business.
On another tuner forum u popped up and I asked you to explain what your tune does for the A10 and guess what, no response. So this is why i emailed you.
In my opinion, some vendors are better than others in the way they handle their customers.
I gave my experience and you got butt hurt…
Don’t be so thin skinned man.
Dude- if you’re not happy with how Wengerd communicates then don’t use him it’s that simple. Plenty of other tuners out there. Me personally, I had a 21 GT with an A10 that shifted like crap when it was brand new. Had a Wengerd 93 tune and it was perfect. So if you don’t want perfect Wengerd isn’t for you. By the way have you read through the “Beware of Lund” thread. Give it a read at bedtime.

The worst part about our hobby are the tuners. It seems they all hate each other. Then their minions come out with whoever tuner they have and bash others with them.

Just let it go already.

So it's just like anything else.

Tuner x sucks, use tuner y

Oil x sucks, use oil y

X tire suck, use Y tires

Forums are here to share opinions from experience.
You are way off base buddy!
Here’s my Wengerd experience. Picked him because it’s a small shop, maybe just him and one other person. Bought the 93, E85 tunes and loaded the 93 on a Saturday. Sent Wengerd an email on Saturday that the tune was loaded and waiting for next steps. Expected to hear back on Monday which was perfectly fine. Nope, a short time later on Saturday heard back from him and he walked me through the pulls and data logging. A short time later my A10 shifted perfectly in all shift modes. Maybe him getting back to me on a Saturday was a full but he did. I’ve since sold my A10 and bought a GT350 which also has his tunes. I’m just one customer, but email communication worked just fine for me. Wengerd has been nothing but helpful to me. (and no I’m no related to him, wish I was he has his own plane)
