I have a LUND tune with a A10 on my '22 and compared to Ford's tuning for the trans its way better. You still get some jerkiness but its just the nature of that trans and having so many gears in it. But it is smoother, it doesn't try to shift into 10th going 4X or 5X mph anymore, but occasionally it will lug the engine when down shifting from 70-80 mph to 4X-5X mph in traffic, but I just bump the paddle 2-3 gears down to put the engine back into a better rpm range. Overall I do like the tunes shift commands better than Ford's and I'm not concerned with the warranty BS, if it breaks and Ford denies it then it just gives me a reason to build the shortblock better.

As far as customer service goes, yeah you can only email them but that isn't a problem because I was going back and forth daily with them when tuning my car, if they had to call and talk to everyone then it would've taken weeks to sort out a basic 93 perf tune on my car. We had some issues getting the right things in place so the car can data log everything they needed to see and that could've been on me more than them but once we got it sorted 2 revisions later the car was done. They were patient with me because I'm use to dropping my car off at a shop and swiping the card when it's ready vs having to do a remote tune. But the tuner was patient like I said and when I asked specific questions he responded back with as much information as needed for my liking.
Thank you for this info Steve! What about when using paddles and slowing down to a stop light. If you paddle down through 4-3-2-1 does the car still jerk a lot? Mine does even in S/paddle mode if I decide not to paddle down after 3rd gear to a stop.
Also I find in S/normal mode the when braking it wants to aggressively down shift all the time. Does the Lund tune stop this or just make it smoother?

I never paddle shift, I don't like the jerkiness from it, this isn't a F1 car so I just leave it in Normal and adjust my exhaust tone to how I like it. But when I do use the paddles to down shift (only to keep the car from lugging the engine) there is no jerking or bucking, unless I down shift to much. I hate sport mode, Ford screwed up majorly on the programming of sport mode imo for this trans. I have yet to try drag mode but I will this weekend if I make it back to the track. I asked LUND this morning about which mode to use for racing, I use normal all the time, even this past weekend at the track and like I said the shift commands are far better than Ford's, but I do think there is more in it but I wasn't able to data log my runs because like an idiot I didn't check for a update on the RTD+ and sure enough it needed a firm ware update. But if I make it this weekend I will data log the car for them to make any adjustments needed for track events.

Edit: Just got a response from LUND, I was told to race the car in drag mode and not normal so this weekend I will do that if I get the chance. I'm hoping to try and few things to help facilitate cooling between runs because it was horrible last weekend and the cooler it got the higher the humidity went and it slowed the car down.

That was in reply to the post I quoted. I was wondering why Wengerd was mentioned right after asking if he could afford a replacement engine. "Can you replace the motor cost if something happened? Have you talked to Wengerd tuning?" As if Wengerd will replace it free.
My response was to the OP as he was asking $800 is worth losing your warranty. Well if you lose your warranty and your engine has a problem, ford is going to tell him to go kick rocks! My next response has nothing to do with the first response I gave him. I was just suggesting if he had talk with wengerd as many people that had PBD and Lund and had issues with a FI tune or drivability issues switched to Wengerd and are extremely happy. Sorry if I hurt your feelings about your Lund tune.

I had a Steeda tune on my 15gt for 40k miles no issues. I don’t think I need to think engine replacement, geez man! Lol
Wengerd guy I messaged with would not talk to me on the phone and answers to my questions on email were horrible, really vague and dismissive. I will not work with them after that experience.
Beefcake and Lethal sales guys are also highly incompetent When you ask any questions. They will also just give you false info when they don’t know.
Lund guy was totally cool and real. Sold me!
We replied to every email. We do business via email.

You threatening that you will blast us for not doing exactly what you ask/calling you ect didn't impress us.

Not exactly the type of customer we will go out of our way for...

As for all our other customers you are much appreciated and we respond usually in under 20 min as most of you all know.

One of your emails said this...

"So if I have issues with the tune we have to communicate via email?
This doesn’t work for me "

If emailing doesn't work for you sounds like you need a local tuner.

Hello, I have a 2021 Mach 1 with A10 trans.
I'm looking at tune options from different places such as Lund, PBD, and Steeda.
In the 6G forum, Wengerd was recommended so I wanted to ask someone there some questions.
I'm not a drag racer, just like spirited driving.
The biggest reason I want a tune is for a better experience with the A10 and secondly maybe more responsive throttle and Horsepower. can someone call me to discuss how your tune will effect my Mach 1.

Wengerd
We do offer tuning for the mach 1.

We have alot of time involved in the calibration of the 10r80.

Kris
Ok, is someone available to discuss. I have a few questions

Wengerd
Ask away.

Krris
Do you guys not do phone calls?

Wengerd
We usually do everything via email

Kris
So if I have issues with the tune we have to communicate via email?
This doesn’t work for me

Wengerd
We do everything via email.

Datalogs, communication ect.

It keeps track of where we left off and is much more efficient.

You will notice tuners like Lund ect do everything via email as well.

Most large scale tuners are email only

Kris
Ok, makes sense I guess. I just like to talk to a human rather than behind email. But I guess that’s the world we live in now.
-Can you tell me how Wengerd is different than Lund and PBD?
-what are the tested dyno gains on your 93 tune on a Mach 1
- what is changed in the A10 tuning. I find mine to be very inconsistent
-Is there a flex and E85 tune available and what level ethanol in the E85 is needed. Do you stay in the flex or only use that to transition.
-What is the price for tuner and tunes
Thanks

Wengerd
We have all tune prices listed up on the website.

I would have to write a book if I listed all the changes we made as there are many haha.

We offer 93, e85 and flex.

You can run any tune and flex can be used as well amd doesn't just have to be used to transition.

On the e85 tune use e70+.

As for competitors tuning we can't answer what we do differently as we don't keep up with what they do as we develop all our tuning from our own test cars.

Kris
Ok, I just didn’t see any choice for the Mach 1 on the website.
You didn’t elaborate on A10 tuning?
Or 93 gains.
If I’m a pain and you can’t answer the questions then we aren’t a good fit.
I’ll let everyone know my experience
Thanks

Wengerd
Mach 1 is listed on the website.

The link was sent in the last email.

93 tuning is roughly 470whp.

On the 10r80 tuning many things get adjusted from shift points, shift feel ect

Kris
Thanks

Trust me, no feelings were hurt. You just made it seem like Wengerd was different than Lund or PBD in regards to warranty.

You just posted a private conversation I sent to your company.
exactly why I would never do business with you!! So unprofessional, wow!

and as you can see by the conversation, if you just answered my questions the first time I wouldn’t have to keep asking over and over for the answers.
And you never attached any results.

Wengerd for the win! Unreal

You chose to bash us for whatever reason.

Based on that we will defend our name we worked years to achieve and show exactly what was said...

This could have easily been avoided but You decided to drag our name into it so here we are...

Yes,

To show the other side...
Ive been very active on this forum for many years and this is the first I’ve seen a vendor post a private email conversation. Very unprofessional!
My emails with Lund were great, answered all my questions.
PBD was also informative and helpful on the phone.
Steeda also always great.
And I always give vendors props when I have a good experience with them.
Have a nice evening there Wengerd.

Can the auto be tuned on its own?
Curious if the engine tune/mapping also needs to be completed at the same time?

Is that before or after you call someone a 'troll' for you 'losing' a email in your spam folder, which you eventually found ? Askin for trolls everywhere.
