So, I have some recent experience.

First tune was an SCT REVX with BAMA - all good (~$500 including tuner device)
Went to add my 2018+ manifold to the BAMA, and they can't do it. - sux (Free lifetime tunes means nothing at this point) - $0
Ordered a Steeda tune that will do the manifold and use my REVX - $150, 2 weeks and I'm still waiting
Lund now uses HP Tuners after nGauge went under and won't use SCT. A Lund tune with the device and the 2018+ manifold is about $850
My local speed shop w/dyno will do a full custom tune with HP tuners and Dyno for $850.

Once Steeda tune is done, I'll put it on. ...Only to be quickly replaced with a local dyno tune for $850. I'm at altitude, so I feel like a dyno tune is better in several ways, and it's the EXACT same price as Lund.

Cheers,
Justin

I was thinking of getting a Lund tune but what turned me off was that they lock your ECU so not even Ford can flash your car which for some dealers that would be a red flag
My understanding on that is they (Ford) can flash your PCM but it unmarries the tuning device. However, I am coming from an Ngauge so maybe its a bit different. And, in full disclosure, Brandon did discourage me from letting them flash it because it COULD create problems. So I hear your concern.

I highly recommend Wengerd Performance. I initially went with one of the big 2 and apart from the initial tune I never received any revisions and have still never heard back.

I needed a tune since I had gotten 4.56 gears and the initial tune was pretty bad. A hour of driving and it threw a misfire code so I switched back to the stock tune and drove that around for a few days waiting to hear back.

After about a week of no communication I emailed Wengerd on a Friday night and he responded within 10 minutes. Saturday bought the tune went through everything and by Sunday at 10 am I had the final revision.

Car is running great and I'll be sticking with him from now on as you can't put a price on the customer service and response time he provides.

Great customer service is what it takes to be successful in a business. Failure to provide that will eventually affect the business in a negative way. I don’t know of anyone, whoā€˜s gone into business with intentions of failing. Having said that, way too many businesses are stepping on their own peters because they choose (and it is a choice), not to care.

Can someone explain this when you buy an RTD why do you have to buy 4 credits?

I have Lund now and love it. Two things though, the nGauge death and me needing to change devices, and their ECU tactics. have swayed me. I was just going to get another Lund device, but I'm going to give Wengerd Performance a shot next week. Ill flash back to stock from Lund with the nGauge, and then I am getting an RTD from Wengerd.

Long term plan is to let a local shop dyno tune. They have a young wiz there who has perfected Chevy stuff, now he is learning Ford stuff, so the Wengerd may be on awhile.

all I was asking is for what are the 4 credits. I know that if I want to play I have to pay.
I think they are for revisions, like if you change gears, intakes, headers, ect.
