I wish you good luck in your pursuit OP.

I just got a res delete/x-pipe install done on my non AE car and I think it's the perfect balance of noise, especially for a DD like myself.

If you decide to drop those cats, make the drive to DFW and I'll swap you. Drive on lift, tools, cold ones, etc. My LTH, with Steeda H pipe and active exhaust is a bit too loud for me.

Still was too loud on quiet mode??

Cutting the cats out is an interesting idea. Are you under a warranty? There are other threads advising not to delete them. One in particular has cats cut out and the car is in the shop waiting on a decision from Ford about the broken rod that vented the block. That thread got ugly fast. General consensous is that cats do nothing to reduce power on a stock car.
I used to be on warranty, extended and I attempted to make a claim. Alas the inspectors said “aftermarket headers” voided any claim. I’m tempted to send a letter mentioning items like the magnuson moss and the fact I’m on a stock tune. I don’t really WANT to tune it now if I’m going to whipple next March but I might have to if I’m dropping the cats and running E85…

Thank you 😭. That’s my exact setup except with high flow catted headers (sp) but I am definitely wanting something ear piercing while still maintaining cruise-ability in the quiet and comfort modes. I still think that setup is definitely loud!!

I haven’t made an exhaust decision yet because things have gotten in the way. (Things in the way were getting euros and clear side markers) :) still leaning towards the corsa setup but without hearing a catted and catless version in person, it’s hard to pull the trigger…great advice thus far nonetheless!!

@ToolboxTay

Saw your post and figured I could still provide a small video. Here’s a small pull from my setup.

For all those interested, and I know, very late… I ended up doing a full 3” system from the headers through the catback, effectively eliminating the step down from the stainless power headers. I also took out the cats for this additional 3” piping and I paired this with a catback, specially the corsa extreme active exhaust with their double x-pipe and the black tips. For those wondering what this transition is like from high flow catted headers with an x pipe and stock mufflers…it’s not even close to the volume I have now. Although still quiet when you want it to be. I still look to push some more air through the exhaust in the future so with that said, I’m probably going to look towards a gen 6 3.0 whipple….all in all, appreciated the recommendations and it’s definitely LOUD now.

I'm basically in the same boat you were when you started the thread. Catted LTH, Steeda H-Pipe, and factory active exhaust on my '21. I love the sound and the ability to ride around, making beautiful exhaust noise or being quiet. I, too, want it to be louder and still have the option to quiet it down when wanted.

How is the Corsa Extreme in quiet/normal mode while just putting around?

How awesome is it in track mode under WOT?

Hey all, this type of question has more than enough nails in its coffin, but I must know for sure.
I currently have lth’s and high flow cats, with an x pipe and the stock active exhaust. I’m looking for the loudest possible setup given i have an active exhaust. I’m thinking of ditching the cats and going with corsa extreme catback but that seems unnecessary given the new price.
So my question is, are the corsas the loudest I will find while going catless lth’s? And would it probably only be worth it to find a local deal less than full price?
Thanks in advance.
Im thinking to go quality here, not quantity. You could make it loud as fuck and it sound like garbage. I heard a few mustangs at the Tail of the Dragon last year and they sounded like crap. Much too loud, raspy, tinny, and bugle like. I wasn't the only one laughing at them.

i personally would NEVER get anything other than active now. In quiet mode, starts are very tame, you can tell it’s catless from the slight reverberations upon start up, nothing bad at all though. Driving around it feels like the exhaust not of a Mustang In quiet. Normal mode feels like driving around in sport or track on a factory exhaust set up and you can tell it’s not the more you lay the foot on the throttle and the valves begin to open up. Track is insanely loud WOT but in all honesty, it’s the perfect low grumble with full 3” exhaust and not excessive like a straight pipe would be (I’ve had a straight pipe I6 vehicle before). So with that being said, solid when even cruising around and no drone. I can’t say the same for other cat backs/axlebacks on the market where im sure you’ve heard how annoyingly raspy and annoying it can sound based on videos online, the full 3” setup and a quality cat back makes all the difference. The tone is definitely a little different too, especially under WOT, you can tell it’s the coyote motor even more so with catless lth’s and the catback. I hope this is helpful, I know you’re probably in Texas based on your profile name, but if you’re ever in northeast Oklahoma, I’d be more than happy to give out a ride to see if you’d like your own setup like this. The ONLY thing I’ve noticed, is it can sound a little raspy when it’s cold and you enter the 2.7k-3k rpm range, and youre in a high gear, that reverb with the engine trying to reach peak power does emit a slight raspy catless noise but it’s deep toned enough that I never notice it being a negative. Personally, I would try and get full 3” from the headers back, catless, and go for the corsas if you want to maintain a quality sound, without the drawbacks of being unnecessarily loud and cheaping out on the mufflers. I will say one more time, track mode WOT is LOUD….

Largest takeaways:
Quiet mode is needed, passengers who don’t enjoy loud vehicles are easily satisfied

Track is bananas

normal / sport - not as insane all the time as track can be and still cruise worthy.

Makes perfect sense! I hear them all the time where I’m from, and it’s definitely cringe worthy many…many times.
