I have the Borla Atak on my Mach 1. It’s LOUD. Really too loud for cold starts before 8am in any neighborhood.

Definitely have to use the quietest setting for early morning.
Man now I’m torn between the atak and the corsas…

I have the Corsa X Pipe res delete and Xtreme exhaust w/ stock cats.

Corsa vs Borla is mostly down to preference imho. Other brands are probably going to drive you nuts with highway drone (unless someone has a no-drone brand they can recommend). I would just watch a few Youtube videos and try to decide which you prefer.

If you really want loud for 1/3 of the price, consider installing a Steeda or Roush axle ack. I have the Steeda on mine, with catless LTHs and an x-pipe. I mounted my AE actuators in a bracket to keep the light off on the dash. I don’t know that I can get much louder than what I have. It’s also easily reversible if it gets to be too much for you.

Whatever you do, all I can say try to keep active exhaust. Its a blessing having the option to quiet it down, well if its a daily driver. I find the M1 exhaust with resonator delete its pretty loud in Track exhaust. But might be not loud enough for you.

This is absolutely ridiculous woah. The quality of sound too has more depth than a lot of setups I’ve heard tbh.

I definitely dont think I could stick to loud full time, I definitely NEED that option to quiet it down if needed and for morning cold starts, I do enjoy just cruising around 50/50 quiet and track mode.

I understand. It’s definitely not for everyone.

LOL - I get it, I TOTALLY do. I just hear so many LOUD mustangs in my area and I just would love the option…if needed to be just as loud or louder. So I figured I’d make a post and see what people had that they enjoyed :)
I hear you on that. Sometimes I wonder if mine is loud enough as well 😂

I would really try and find out what active actually does for the atak or the xtreme. Since you say you want a quiet start up, I would try and hear how quiet they actually get. If your going LTH(I would question why if your not FI or built) and either of these then I would not think there is a quiet mode anymore, not really at least. They turn it into a crazy obscene scare and piss off everyone mode - not a quite one. LTH are overboard - ask me how I know(also fully covered that not really needed with our manifolds).

Good luck with the quiet as it sounds like your definitely not on that path!!!!!

AWE won’t drone but they don’t have an active system for S550. They do have an active system for S650 but the hangers are different so someone would need to do a little work to make them fit properly. Also not sure if the actuators are the same

All - LTH were already a modification i had done previously after the x pipe. I still have the active factory exhaust mufflers and it all emits a GOOD volume. I do plan on going FI with an ESS in about a year but not pushing anything more than 650ish, so maybe a 110mm pulley w/ E85. The whole package I was basically looking for, is something that is still quiet ish on start up (active valves necessary) as well as a wake the dead amount of noise just for the fun of it all where I could potentially win a “loud-off”. Still definitely retaining the active though because I want to be somewhat respectful where I live :). thus far, stellar advice from all tbh.

If you decide to drop those cats, make the drive to DFW and I'll swap you. Drive on lift, tools, cold ones, etc. My LTH, with Steeda H pipe and active exhaust is a bit too loud for me.

Cutting the cats out is an interesting idea. Are you under a warranty? There are other threads advising not to delete them. One in particular has cats cut out and the car is in the shop waiting on a decision from Ford about the broken rod that vented the block. That thread got ugly fast. General consensous is that cats do nothing to reduce power on a stock car.
