Hey I just bought my 16 GT350 a few months ago and it's been awesome to own and drive! I've been hearing this loud ticking noise coming from what seems to be the passenger side of the engine around the valve cover. It only happens once the car has been warmed up and driving for a while. It's a pretty loud tick and I'm not sure what it could be. Some people say it's normal, some say it's not. I read some 5.0s have a "BBQ or typewriter tick" but I heard those and they don't sound quite the same. I figured I'd post a thread to see if anyone has encountered the same thing. I know it's not piston slap for sure. Any ideas or tips on what you guys might think it is? I have a warranty on it but if it's normal, I'm not really looking to have the car out of my possession for weeks/months at a time. Let me know if you need better sound clips of it!

Could be lash adjuster - hydraulic cam follower related.

Looking in a diff (& unlikely) direction....
Does your car have OEM exhaust manifolds or aftermarket headers?

350s can crack exh manifolds. Not often, but it has happened. Flat crank veh's thru out the ages hav cracked exh components.
Heard of a few s550 GT350's doing this.

I have OEM headers. I feel like if it was cracked, it would probably be more of an exhaust leak sound. Not really sure how to diagnose what this sound is. I'm hoping it's nothing major. Not sure what/where a lash adjuster might be.
